In this state of mind, he started to write the material for his first solo album, Western Romance. After his return, Perreau began a one-year program at the acting DOJO under the wing of Pol Pelletier, renowned lady of the theater. This union would be crucial for the singer. In November of 2002, the release of Western Romance, co-produced by Gilles Brisebois, would earn Yann Perreau many awards such as the Belgium-Quebec Rapsat-Lelièvre Award, the Miroir Prize at the Festival d’été de Québec and the Félix-Leclerc Prize at the Francofolies de Montréal. The Western Romance show was presented all over the province of Quebec, Belgium, France, Canada and Mexico.
In 2005, Yann Perreau delivered his second album, Nucléaire, produced this time by Éric Goulet. After finalizing a whole new musical atmosphere, the singer presented a brand new show called "Perreau et la Lune", a luminous mix of both his albums that resulted in the singer touring constantly during the year it was released. In the fall of 2007, Perreau won the Félix Award for Director of the Year for the show. 2008 saw the release of the CD\DVD "Perreau et la lune, live au Quat'Sous".
In 2009, Yann Perreau returned with his new album "Un Serpent Sous les Fleurs", released on March 24th with Bonsound Records.

oooohh!
si tu voyais comme c'est beau
Fais de moi ton adversaire
Ton étendard dans la poussière
Fais de moi ton sanctuaire
Progressons dans la lumière
Délivre-nous de la maladie
Délivre-nous de la douleur
Fais demoi ton peuple entier
Invente une langue pour me nommer

The lyrics of Yann Perreau's "Invente une langue pour me nommer" talk about the desire to be everything for someone, to be their world, and to be named by them. The singer speaks to their lover, promising them everything they can offer: love, forgiveness, beauty, and even the darker parts of themselves. They want to be their lover's home and their attraction. They promise to adapt to their lover's preferences, speaking the language of horses, playing melodies, and even making up their own language to be named.
The lyrics express a deep need for connection and belonging, to be seen and recognized by someone. The idea of inventing a language to name oneself is symbolic of this desire; it suggests a need to create a new identity together, one that is separate from the rest of the world. The singer wants to be all things for their lover, their ally, their adversary, and their sanctuary. They ask for deliverance from pain and illness and promise to progress in the light together.
Overall, the song conveys a message of deep love and devotion, with a desire for complete union and understanding between two people. It speaks to the human need for connection and understanding and the lengths we go to fulfill that need.
