Let It Go
Yashin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When we were young things were easier,
I have gone too far to look back on where we were,
This is all I've known,
You are not alone
Let it go 2x
I'm closer than you know 2x
Let it go 2x
I'm closer than you know 2x
Why can't we keep it together
I'm coming back, back,
It's so hard to please I'm close to being the furthest thing,
In your mind (repeats screamo)
Let it go 2x
I'm closer than you know 2x
Why can't we keep it together
Let it go 2x
I'm closer than you know 2x
Why can't we keep it together

In Yashin's song "Let It Go," the lyrics lament the difficulties that come with growing up and the accompanying complexities that come with it. The song seems to reflect on a past where things seemed easier and simpler, but as time has passed, the singer realizes that they have gone too far to turn back. It is a relatable sentiment that many of us feel as we get older and grapple with the responsibilities of adult life.
Furthermore, the song delivers a message of hope and camaraderie, as it insists that the singer is not alone in trying to navigate the complexities of adulthood. The repetition of "let it go" and "I'm closer than you know" is an assurance that all will be well if we let go of our fears and anxiety and allow ourselves to rely on those around us.
The chorus, "Why can't we keep it together," is a poignant question that reflects a universal feeling of frustration at the difficulty of maintaining relationships and holding onto the past. It speaks to a longing for a simpler time when everything was easier, and having someone by your side meant nothing else mattered.
Overall, "Let It Go" is an anthem that speaks to the struggles of growing up, maintaining relationships, and coming to terms with the past. It is a relatable and emotional song that reflects on the challenges we all face as we journey through life.
