@Marti Stern I’m late but this is definitely FM synthesis with a bit crusher. Aparillo can do it most likely, or the FM operator in Drambo.

The bass at 30 seconds may be FM or it could be phase distortion synthesis mixed with FM. Shockwave on iPad does phase distortion.

This song's mysterious tone and feel fits the atmoshpere of the shrines perfectly. Having to listen to this the whole way through a trial, I've come to really like the music, since the shrines get extremely difficult after completing the first four.

Most of the shrine's puzzles are well designed but some aren't because they are pretty basic like ‛drifting’ or ‛wind guides you’ but most of them are really good and challenging. For example ‛fateful stars’, ‛speed of light’, ‛bravery grasp’, ‛the whole picture’, ‛blue flame’, ‛trial of power’, ‛the current solution’, ‛the electric path’, ‛wind guide’, ‛the balanced approach’, ‛halt the tilt’, ‛windmills’, ‛the winding route’, ‛passing the flames’, ‛two bombs’, etc.

@sabotabo Water levels can be amazing (Hydrocity Zone in Sonic 3 & Knuckles is an amazing stage and every water stage in the Donkey Kong Country series are bangers) It's just that most (99%) of games do it awfully. Instead of giving players the freedom to explore the depths of the sea without gravity weighing them down, these stages often take a great deal of control and freedom away from the player, making most water levels a boring struggle to get through. It can be done spectacularly, but "great" examples of water levels done right are few and far between. Wish they weren't so rare...

Cave Johnson here. Our most recent discovery in the perpetual testing initiative was a world still in the middle ages and lacks an aperture science facility. We consulted with some nice tribal folk who really have a thing for eyeball patterns and convinced them to make some test chambers for us and gave them a bunch of random aperture products to mess around with. They made some damn good ones too, but we had to discontinue the project because they made all of their chambers really inconveniently spaced out and only compatible with this tablet thing that they developed without our say so instead of the handheld portal device. That, and i'm still a little salty that they managed to outdo us in the turret department.....

@Nicholas Peters I'm sure I made a couple of them angry. You know the one with the multiple spike balls hanging from a horizontal post? Yeah, I used magnesis to wrap them around the post, lol. Oh, and that one where there's a platform on the ground moving back and forth that you have to place a laser beam on so it keeps activating a switch that alternates the stairs so you can climb them? Yeah, never even found that laser, I just abused the fact that I can have 2 bombs out at once :)

I just put this music in the living room. My 5 years-old son (who assist me playing) says after 1.5 second “oh ! A shrine !”, turns to little brother : “I’m Link, and I have to complete this mission to get a ball [spirit orb] !”. Then, next track, also within a second : “oh no ! A Gardian ! “ these music are so perfectly fitted, the link with what happens in the game is automatic !

For all the new young nintendo players out there we Zelda veterans highly encourage you to play the earlier games like ocarina of time, twilight princess or wind waker. If you thin kthis sounds amazing go back and play the earlier games. Back then you had to use an instrument to travel or just to progress through the story. It was beautiful. I was so damn op on this game. My inventory consisted of lylnel crushers, spears,sword and bows. I had every single armor piece enhanced to the max level, did the master sword trials and powered it up, had the master cycle, the hyrule shield, completed every shrine and had literally the best armor in the game. I was killing lynels for fun.

This song really portrays how ancient, but advanced the Sheika's are. And no matter how many shrines i've completed, this song never bores me nor annoys me. It's great, this soundtrack is great, and the game is a masterpiece.
