Yazoo were formed in early 1982 by former Depeche Mode songwriter Vince Clarke (synthesizers) and English singer Alison Moyet (vocals) and signed to Mute Records in the United Kingdom.
Their debut single "Only You" was released on 15 March 1982 and rose to number 2 on the UK charts. They also released two studio albums: Upstairs at Eric's in 1982 and You and Me Both in 1983.
Shortly after the release of the second album, Moyet and Clarke decided to break up. Moyet pursued a solo career while Clarke first founded (the short lived) The Assembly followed by the successful Erasure.
Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet briefly reunited in 2008 and toured Europe and the United States as Yazoo for the first time in twenty-five years. Also in 2008, their record company issued a 4-disc box set called In Your Room; containing remastered editions of both of their original albums, a disc of b-sides and remixes (imaginitively titled B-Sides and Remixes) and a DVD containing promotional videos, interviews etc.

The Other Side Of Love
Yazoo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You can do it by day, you can do it by night
It can be so fine and you'll agree
If you just do what comes naturally now
[Chorus:]
Baby it's the other side of love
Baby it's the other side of love
Baby, baby
There's plenty of ways we can do that thing
We can fool around til we get that swing
Come on do what you want honey we don't mind
If you just make sure that you stay in time now
[Chorus]
I know a good dance when the mood is right
You can take is sow cause we've got all night
It can be so fine and you'll agree
If you just do what come naturally now
The song "The Other Side of Love" by Yazoo is a dance track that encourages listeners to let go and embrace their natural desires. The singer emphasizes that they don't mind what the listener does, as long as they stay in time with the music. The song ends with a repetition of the first verse, with the singer encouraging the listener to take their time and let the mood guide them.

This was the only missing gem in what was otherwise a perfect setlist during their 2008 reunion tour.

Alison Moyet thought it was the worst song they ever recorded and released and hated to sing it, so she got Vince Clarke on board in not performing it during their reunion tour.

I really love this song . I remember it from when it was released (I am that old) and love the 80s synth sound with Alison’s amazing voice . Yazoo are amazing and I regularly play both their albums on a frequent basis . I always will and love the other side of love 💗
