Before the tears fell on her lonely smile, she was a silly girl
She was dancing around like there was no one around, there wasn't any girls
She was holding a bag over a mirror in class like one of many girls, many girls
When it was time to put it all on the line she was a ready girl
Takin' the shots, another one on the rocks, she was a steady girl
Dope in the bag, another tote in the trash, it's just a pity, girl
And the beat it rolls over and over
Like the wheels under the Chevy Nova
It goes on, it goes on, it goes on, it goes on
On forever through the stars, it's solar
Yeah, she's in the radio
Radio
The radio
Radio
Radio
Oh, oh
Before the streets and all the lonely creeps, he was a good boy
Before the goons he did it all for fun, now he's a hood boy
He put the weight in the bag, he carried weight to the ave to be the big boy
He got high on the stash, yeah, he got high on the glass, now he's a sick boy, sick boy
And the beat it rolls over and over
Like the wheels under the Chevy Nova
It goes on, it goes on, it goes on, it goes on
On forever through the stars, it's solar
Yeah, she's in the radio
Radio
The radio
Radio
Radio
Oh, oh
Fell asleep on the dash and then you wake up crashed, yeah, it's a crippled world
Not awake for a ride, well, then you're dreamin' alive, yeah, in your little world
Out there chasin' the thrills, runnin' away from your bills, yeah, it's a rigged world
Like a rat in a mill, you're running dead on your heels
Out in the real world, real world
And the beat it rolls over and over
Like the wheels under the Chevy Nova
It goes on, it goes on, it goes on, it goes on
On forever through the stars, it's solar
Yeah, she's in the radio
Radio

The lyrics for Yelawolf's song Radio reveal the struggle of nostalgia for the good old days versus the all-pervasive influence of the internet and its impact on how we experience music. In the chorus, Yelawolf laments the loss of the radio star due to the influence of the internet and YouTube. He is unable to get his love interest out of his mind despite changing the radio channels. Yelawolf puts into words the dilemma of the music industry synonymous with the internet and social media.
The verses of the song explore the influence of digital media on the industry. Yelawolf mentions how things have changed since the time of Tupac and Biggie and references the Chili Peppers' tune 'Give it Away' to underscore the point further. Yelawolf also criticizes the many critics and their opinions about music today. He mentions that it's hard to find legitimate music now because everything is a replay. Finally, he talks about how truth can often be dark but that is what inspires the truest art, and something new will always take its place.
