The entire song is about Ryan feeling towards Los Angeles. It's no secret that he doesn't like it, and vents his frustrations of living in such society. He has trouble making friends there because everyone is so caught up in themselves "Boy you gotta love someone more than yourself...it's hard to find angels...". A very simple message, he could easily just say "I hate Los Angeles" and leave it at that. but Ryan deliver a well-thought out and well-written song telling you why.
