Locked & Loaded
Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You're a hypocrite.
What you say and do are not the same.
Now you're to blame.
And you're paranoid.
To live will cost you.
But to die is free.
Oh yes, indeed.
You've got a head full of lead.
Yeah that's what I said.
You've got a head full of lead.
And now you're dead.

Cause I'm locked & loaded.
I'm locked & loaded.

It's not acceptable.
You have no excuse for what you did.
Now you must surrender.
And it's impossible.
You can't comprehend the greatest sin.
You must remember.

You've got a head full of lead.
Yeah that's what I said.
You've got a head full of lead.
And now you're dead.

'Cause I'm locked & loaded.
I'm locked & loaded.
I'm locked & loaded.
I'm locked & loaded.
Fire!

(guitar solo)

Don't hold your breath.
Just throw the dice.
And will claim my prize.
Oh yes indeed.

You've got a head full of lead.
Yeah that's what I said.
You've got a head full of lead.
And now you're dead.

'Cause I'm locked & loaded.
I'm locked & loaded.
I'm locked & loaded.

I'm locked & loaded.
Fire!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force's "Locked & Loaded" discuss hypocrisy and its consequences. The song chastises someone for saying one thing and doing another, and points out the harm that can come from such behavior. The lyrics suggest that the person being addressed is now to blame for their actions and is paranoid about the consequences.

The song explores the idea that living comes at a high cost, while death is free. The lyrics seem to suggest that the person being addressed has made choices that have led to their own demise. The repeated phrase "You've got a head full of lead" drives home this point, implying that the person has made foolish decisions that have led to their downfall.

The chorus, "I'm locked & loaded," suggests that the singer of the song is ready to act, perhaps with violence. The repeated use of the phrase in the chorus adds a sense of urgency and danger to the lyrics. The guitar solo that follows adds to this feeling of aggression and tension, culminating in the final "Fire!" at the end of the song.
