Qué sorpresa la de encontrarte
¿Cómo te va?
Hace tiempo que deseaba hablarte
Para saber algo de ti
Y sin querer estás aquí
Ven junto a mí, ven junto a mí
Cómo me amabas, cómo te amaba
¿Qué tal mi amor?
Dime quién besa hoy tus tiernos labios
Dime por Dios
¿Quién con cariño mata tu tristeza?
Quiero saber algo de ti
Y sin querer estás aquí
Ven junto a mí, ven junto a mí
Cómo me amabas, cómo te amaba
The lyrics of Yolandita Monge's song Cierra los Ojos y Juntos Recordemos speak of a chance encounter with a former lover, and the desire to reminisce about the happy times they shared in the past. The singer asks how their former lover has been, and expresses their desire to know more about their current life. The nostalgic tone of the song is highlighted when the singer urges their lover to close their eyes and remember the moments when they were young, in love, and seemingly invincible. The verses convey a sense of longing, as the singer expresses their desire for the past, when they were with their former lover, and were happy and in love.
The chorus of the song repeats the invitation to remember the past, and describes the intensity of their love at the time, when they felt like they were touching the sky. The lyrics describe moments of happiness and sadness, and the depth of their love, which seems to have been the driving force behind all of their memories. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus, reminding the listener that whoever they are, wherever they are, they should always keep the happy memories of the past close to their hearts.
