If you want to skip straight to the gameplay, it's at 2:02 and if you want to skip straight to the best and most amazing run, it's at 7:46. This is straight up, one of the most unique indie games of this type I've ever played. It's flat out amazing, and the feeling I got playing it a few times (on and off camera) knowing that the stuff we had made will continue to help future generations thrive is awesome. This game isn't about racking up kills, it's about making sure people continue to survive, and everyone plays a small role in the future existence.

@SeriousName there is what they called an Eve civilization. Meaning the first player to be born would be adult female from the very start. Playing as an Eve is very rare and a very challenging. But once you get to start a surviving civilization. You get to have the bragging rights to be the mother of the whole server. Some servers have multiple cities on it.

@Christian Sherrard I don't know. It can get pretty deep here and there. I remember that I was born into a very big village. So I went off to do my own things (after mid-childhood) because I wanted to not be a burden (a noob). I was able to kill a wolf with an arrow and everything. I made a very good camp with a ton of food. I wanted to tell the village that I grow up during my childhood that there was a huge surplus of food there (I was going to die). I found the location of the base but everyone was gone. I saw my mother, brother, and sister corpse all there. I accepted my fate and died there. There was something about it that I can't put into words the emotions from it (it was also pretty depressing). I am sure other people that played this game had some emotions like that. Either happier or depressing emotions than I. And to think that only took an hour to cause that.

LOVE you playing this game. Would you consider doing some more videos of this? Of course we all love how you ruin things on purpouse in most games, it’s a good laugh and showcases your unique personality- but it’s also a nice change of pace to see you take a game seriously once in a while. If you wouldn’t want to repeat this game, maybe try don’t starve/don’t starve together? It isn’t the same with the whole civilization advancing built into the game (except maybe on big public servers? idk), but it is another pretty difficult survival game. I would really love to see you do either of these if you’d be willing to <3

Also a difference between One Hour One Life and Don’t Starve Together is in Don’t Starve Together you can play for more than one hour, you don’t automatically die. At first I was thinking this might not appeal to you as much because you don’t really do longer let’s plays, but then I remembered you had those house flipper and thief simulator series, so maybe you would find a Don’t Starve series fun?

Actually, as of recent updates with eve spawns being closer, there are many wars and murderers afoot, lusting for the loot and blood from raids can be a theme in certain eras of a city. People may let other races of people live in their towns, or they may get onto their horses and poise their swords to murder the people in towns that are competition. Don't worry, people help eachother and work together commonly still. Cities are massive and just when your town is about to die off due to lack of females, an eve may come to save the day.

Hmmm ...maybe a technological advanced civilization were use its advantages more wisely and eradicate lesser resource consumers instead of trying to enslave them so later on those " formerly conquered cultures" don't use this currently " false guilt trip" on the superior culture to begin population replacement genocide due to their unchecked population explosions from cultures that couldn't develop any modern technology of anykind due to extremely mild climate of the sub tropics which created conditions that didn't challenge them in anyway which evolved humans with on average subpar intellectual abilities compared to human civilizations in more harsher climates that placed survival on planing for tommrow.......

Pretty cool premise...working hard for the generations that come after. But also a good example of “the joy is in the journey” concept. Always had to remind my kids: it’s playing the game that’s fun, not beating it.

Gray got me into this game. Today i spent an hour trying to make 1 pile of compost, but babies and other villagers interfered. Then i was born into the same village again and spent an hour making 12 piles of compost.

If you're like me and have no idea what this game is. It is multiplayer. Every person is another player, and this game is all about passing down generations through 60 minutes. It's really cool.

I've started playing over the past week, not much of this seems to apply anymore. The game has changed and the tech tree has grown a lot. Seems to have become a lot harder. At least for someone like me.

I love this game. it's hard, but worth it. I've played many survival games, but this is the best. Learn new things each life. It'll then be much easier then.
Also you can use the zoom out mod to find things easier. Just watch out for mosquitoes, as zooming out makes it hard to see them, so it's not really cheating.

The idea of pervasive online game, born randomly into the world, developing human technology and society from scratch... Was something I dreamed of. Not in an hour at a time though or in this 2D format. Really cool game. My idea involved eventually more society and conflict but maybe that would emerge given time :)

That's an emotional game. You come to the world that people created for you and then you are the people that create the world from the young ones, enjoying every moment. You need to do that so the circle goes on.

Okay, if people play continously for about 10 years or so, and the game gets a big enough community, we might see some Bronze Age level civilization forming in the game's servers, if they are lucky.
