So answer why should I
Requesting a valid reason to invest energy and empathy in others

Have any of theirs?
Questioning the sense of aiding others who do not provide immediate or tangible benefits

Prophets with problems
Individuals or groups that possess knowledge and consciousness but are unable to solve issues or struggle individually

Smart mouths don't wanna solve them
Individuals who make witty remarks or comments but do not contribute ideas or solutions

Nobody can tell me
Refusing to acknowledge or accept what others express or explain

That we got a plan B worth hearing
Suggesting that there is no backup plan or solution to critical global issues

When I dream of outer space
Fantasizing or imagining alternate realities or scenarios

I wonder what they're thinking
Curiosity and speculation on the mindset of extraterrestrial beings

When they look down and see
What extraterrestrial beings may see when observing Earth

That the Earth is bleeding
The effects of pollution, war, and climate change making the planet appear to be suffering or in distress

The kids are takin' the streets
Youth and younger generations taking significant action to facilitate change and progress in society

They ain't missin' a beat
Staying committed and engaged in the movement to make changes in society's existing structures and systems

They want their futures back
Desperately hoping to create or maintain a positive future despite the current unfavorable circumstances

When the leaders can't lead
Leadership is ineffective, inadequate, or absent

We all look to a Swede
Picking a figurehead who embodies the traits we believe are critical for leadership

Who speaks the most sense to me
Believing that the preferred leader possesses the most rational, practical and insightful ideas

May be finally a time
The possibility that the current impactful events will trigger a significant change or shift in society

For us to draw the line
An opportunity to create clear boundaries or distinctions of moral and ethical behaviors in society

In the mess we made
Tackling society's challenging issues that have been created by past behavior or decisions

Why should we
The repetition of questioning previous stanzas, which contemplate the logic behind investing empathy in strangers

Care about people
The justification behind investing in strangers and their plight

We have never met?
Clearly stating the unfamiliarity of these individuals

We will never meet?
The inevitable outcome of not being able to meet us beyond our physical lifespan

So don't go, get a coffee
No reason to distract oneself from the critical issues that require immediate attention and change

Now's not the time for sleep
Urging individuals that these issues require unrelenting attention and focus
