Subsequent releases like The Weed Album and South Memphis Kingpin brought him to 2012, when he dropped the first in a successful series of mixtapes dubbed High Class Street Music . By the time High Class Street Music 4 and the Preach single dropped in 2014, Dolph was working with major-label producers including Drumma Boy and Zaytoven. Both provided tracks for his 2016 debut LP, King of Memphis, which featured no guest artists, and debuted at number 49 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
A trio of mixtapes followed, ending withm Rich Crack Baby. Okay, let's do it
Yeah, I'm blessed (yeah)
Came a long way from we was livin' in the 'jects (damn)
Told you I was a dawg, baby, when we first met (told you)
I'm nothin' like the rest, so what the fuck did you expect?
To be honest, I don't care 'bout your opinion, where the check? (For real, though)
Where the check be?
I put her out and didn't call her 'til the next week (damn)
Your baby mama say your pussy ass a deadbeat (what?)
And I just spent three-fifty on a neck piece (yeah, yeah)
You know how I came in, so you know how I'm comin' (woo)
Retro number somethings with the Yves Saint Laurent (drippy)
Dolph, you be killin' it, man, the way you put that shit on (ayy)
Gold chain, gold glasses, primetime like Deion
Hah, you a square, you ain't never fucked a bitch in a dope house (uh-uh)
Forty P's in the sofa, that's a dope couch (whoa)
I could never cross my niggas out for no amount (no)
Free all of my niggas 'til they out
Yeah, I'm blessed (yeah)
Came a long way from we was livin' in the 'jects (damn)
Told you I was a dawg, baby, when we first met (told you)
I'm nothin' like the rest, so what the fuck did you expect?
To be honest, I don't care 'bout your opinion, where the check? (For real, though)
Uh, damn, uh, damn, uh, damn, uh, damn
To be honest, I don't care 'bout your opinion, where the check?
Yeah, ayy, yeah, ayy, yeah, ayy, yeah, ayy
To be honest, I don't care 'bout your opinions, where the check?

Remember what it feel like to not have shit (I swear)
Didn't even have no toilet tissue for when I took a shit (damn)
Now when I wake up, look in the mirror, I can't believe this (it's Dolph)
I got an eating habit like Cletus (Klump)
Whole lot of bread every season (big cake)
Smokin' weed and laughin' like I'm Beavis (heh-heh)
Pull up in the devil, I mean a Demon (skrrt)
Trigger finger itchin', just give me a reason (whoa)
Cutthroat, nigga, all my niggas greazy (hey)
Her titties big, then I suck 'em like I'm teethin' (yeah)
Still got the plug on the mid in Phoenix (ayy)
Yeah, I'm blessed
Came a long way from we was livin' in the 'jects (damn)

To be honest, I don't care 'bout your opinions, where the check?
In "To Be Honest", Young Dolph is rapping about his success despite humble beginnings. He talks about how he and his family lived in the projects and how far he's come from those days. Dolph also boasts about his lavish lifestyle, with lyrics about buying a neckpiece for $350 and the luxury clothes he wears. He declares that he doesn't care about people's opinions as long as he's being paid, indicating a focus on money rather than validation. The chorus emphasizes this sentiment, with the repeated lyric "to be honest, I don't care 'bout your opinion, where the check?"
The song shows a clear contrast between Dolph's past struggles and his current success. He emphasizes his determination to succeed and states that he is proud of what he has achieved. He references his eating habits and love for smoking weed while laughing easily. He also talks about a previous rough life where they didn't have enough toilet tissue for their daily needs. The lyrics convey a sense of triumph and self-assuredness, as Dolph celebrates his accomplishments and insists that he doesn't care what others think, as long as he is being compensated for his work.
