Young Heretics are the brainchild of Melbourne based duo, Kitty Hart and Matthew Wright - eccentric twins, both with a love of warped pop music and sonic invention. The dual vocal attack incorporates theatrical soundscapes, driving beats and a massive selection of other instruments to create a dynamic and inventive sound unlike any Australian music created before it.
After leaving the hugely successful band "The Getaway Plan for the project, Matthew stated Kitty was his favourite lyricist of all time - the musical chemistry between the two is evident throughout every aspect of their sound, Creatively and professionally beyond their years, the few shows they have performed have caused a huge stir amongst punters and industry alike.
The pair spent most of 2009 recording their debut album "We Are The Lost Loves", released in May 2010 it has received critical acclaim from all corners of the globe.

Trapperkeeper
Young Heretics Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Did they build you so oh you weren't built to last?
Did they promise things oh about the salt and sky
That they'd follow you until the very day you died
How could they know you
And how could they know you
And how could they know you
And how could they know you
And how could they know you
In Young Heretics's song Trapperkeeper, the lyrics speak to the idea of feeling out of place and disconnected from the world around you. The opening lines ask if the listener has found themselves moving too quickly, almost as if they are not in control of their own life. The second line questions whether or not they were made for longevity, implying that perhaps they were born with a predetermined timeline. The following lines touch on the idea of broken promises, of being promised the world but ultimately feeling let down. The repeated line "How could they know you" speaks to the idea of feeling misunderstood and unseen by those around you, leading the listener to question if they will ever truly be known.
Overall, the lyrics of Trapperkeeper convey a sense of alienation and searching for connection. The song speaks to the idea of feeling lost in a world that promises so much but ultimately fails to deliver. Through the use of questioning and repetition, the lyrics emphasize the feeling of being misunderstood and disconnected from those around you.
