Thug was born amongst the masses eliminating any doubt that he wouldnโt be special. The second youngest child of 11 children developed a skill for standing out amongst many, early. Young Thug moved to Jonesboro, an impoverished suburb of Georgia where his lifestyle was engrossed by the crime, drug addiction and violence that surrounded him. It was there that he developed an insatiable appetite to succeed his current situation. After discovering and acknowledging his talent and creativity for music in 2010, Thug started a new hustle that would soon mature as one of the most promising music careers in the South. He also founded the record label YSL ( Young Stoner/Slatt Life) in 2010.
Eyeballing the throne of Hip hop royalty, Young Thug began to create a sound and style that would inevitably place him on top. Young Thugโs catchy verses and raw lyrical talent distinguished noise from art, clearly being the latter his creations are the best that remain of Southern hip hop. He is the embodiment of the evolution of Southern hip-hop. Young Thug is the representative for a generation that doesn't see hip-hop as a hobby but a lifestyle. Keeping true to himself, his art, and his home Young Thug will stand alone as the one true savior of the Southern movement.

I came with plenty (racks)
This is what you need
Wear my heart (heart), on my sleeve (hey)
Sit me down, baby, tell me where to be
Cross my heart, the door ajar unless it's Bentley
Say, when I wanna turn my back, don't go knock on my dawg door (yeah, yeah)
I'm makin' love to shawty, oh (yeah)
Okay, you beat your cases and you don't have to sell the can now (sell the can now)
And her fuckin' ring look like the Grand Slam (whoa)
Oh, I'ma have to take a Bentley just to transit (whoa)
Eat us some lobsters, just the bros, I left the hoes out
Lost thirty million this year and that's with the shows out (whoa)
I told 'em put the rest of it up, we got to hold out
Got a few opp bitches tryna figure out where my show spot
Racist, pockets full of big faces
Get you paid quick
Walk up on 'em and just face it (baow)
Open cases, guess they thought I was somethin' to play with (woo)
Watch me falsetto out in Vegas with your lady (woo)
Tryna rob you, chances are slimmer than shady (yeah)
She got her hair long with the Maisons on, no basic (oh yeah, yeah)
She got me thinkin' everybody 'round me cheatin' (yeah)
These niggas basic, they need to face it
I'ma turn off the light
But tell me is you breathin'?
Tell me if you caught a fever
Strictly for cuttin' up every season (oh)
I took her out, seein' it changed me
I took her out, you know the pain, babe
You a hard headed nigga, yeah
Fuck all that though
No back and forth with them opp or them hatin' hoes
No back and forth with them opp 'bout your ratchet ass
I hope you plan on growin' up with your ratchet ass, yeah
La-la-la, la-la-la
Ooh, ooh, na-na
I don't wanna get no crown
Blessed with her heartaches
My heart gone
The lyrics to Young Thug's song "Faces" touch on themes of love, self-identity, and perseverance. The first few lines, "This is what you need, I came with plenty" suggest that the singer has something to offer, whether it be material wealth or emotional support. They wear their heart on their sleeve and are open and vulnerable in their relationships. The line "Sit me down, baby, tell me where to be, cross my heart, the door ajar unless it's Bentley" shows a willingness to adapt and make compromises in order to maintain a loving connection, but also hints at the idea that material possessions can hinder genuine intimacy.
The lyrics continue to explore various themes and experiences such as beating a legal case, indulging in luxury, and losing money in the entertainment industry. The lines "I told 'em put the rest of it up, we got to hold out, got a few opp bitches tryna figure out where my show spot" showcase the singer's determination to persevere despite setbacks and potential enemies. They are aware of the challenges and risks they face in their line of work but remain focused on their goals.
The lyrics also touch on the singer's perception of others, describing them as "basic" and in need of facing their own realities. There is a sense of confidence and self-assuredness in the way the singer presents themselves, suggesting that they have overcome hardships and are uninterested in engaging with negative influences.
Overall, "Faces" by Young Thug explores themes of love, ambition, and personal growth while also critiquing the superficiality and challenges of success in the entertainment industry.
