Famous Last Words
Your Name In Vain Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You words are echoing through my head
I ponder them over and over again
Will you become my end?

No, though this is turning me inside out
I feel that the changes is bringing
You seem to be hating my hopes of attaining
A way to turn this around

You're like a fire that's burning inside
But before you consume me tonight
I'll make you mine

Somehow I fear that you did not see
You're leaving what bitter thing me
But now you're gone and I am fine

You say you regret this
I hope you forget this
I hope you forget(regret) this You're like a fire that's burning inside
But before you consume me tonight
I'll make you mine

You're like a fire that's burning my eyes
But before you consume me tonight
I'll make you mine

You think you're fine that you offered the slightest
Choke on my words I hope you will regret this

You're like a fire that's burning inside!

You're like a fire that's burning inside
But before you consume me tonight
I'll make you mine

You're like a fire that's burning my eyes

But before you consume me tonight
I'll make you mine

Overall Meaning

In “Famous Last Words” by Your Name In Vain, the lyrics deal with a relationship that is coming to an end. The singer is pondering over the words that were said by their partner over and over again, and wonders if these words will become their ultimate demise. Though the change in the relationship is causing inner turmoil within the singer, they want to find a way to turn things around. They fear that their partner does not realize that their actions are hurting the singer, and they will regret it in the end. The lyrics suggest that the singer is willing to fight for their love, but if the relationship does end, they will be fine.

The chorus of the song contains the line “You’re like a fire that’s burning inside”. This metaphor suggests that the singer’s partner is consuming them inside and out, but the singer is willing to make their partner mine before they are completely consumed. The line “you think you’re fine that you offered the slightest” implies that the singer’s partner may not fully understand the gravity of the situation or the impact their actions have had on the singer.

Overall, the lyrics in “Famous Last Words” convey the pain and confusion of a deteriorating relationship, and the emotional struggle of choosing between fighting for love or accepting that it may be time to move on.

Ahhhh!!!! I’ve been looking for this song for years!! I only remembered it from their myspace page, which is long gone. I couldn’t remember the band name or song, or specifically what the album art was, only the lyrics and melody of the chorus.
