Youth Brigade Lyrics

The lyrics to Youth Brigade's song "Jump Back" are about the nostalgia for a simpler time, contrasted with the harsh realities of the present. The song tells the story of a gang called Ronny and his Merry Band who ruled the area, stealing from the poor and giving to the rich. The gang lived a life of luxury without having to work, and they thought they were clever in their actions. They sang, danced, fought, and played to show off their proud and bold ways, but they never realized that they too could age and become obsolete.
The chorus of the song, "Jump back, jump back, we must jump back to find the life we once led, it cannot be dead," is a call to go back to a time when life was simpler and more carefree. However, the verse following the chorus reminds the listener that time moves on, and we must adjust to the world as it is now. The story of Ronny and his Merry Band is used as an example of a group who failed to adapt to the changing times and became stuck in the past, ultimately leading to their downfall.
The lyrics of "Jump Back" are a reflection of the human desire for a simpler and more innocent time. The song speaks to the nostalgia and longing that people have for a life that may have never even existed in the way they remember it. It's a song about the struggles of youth who are coming to terms with the complexities of adulthood and the changing nature of the world around them.
