Not sure which side you're on, but be sure this is war
Can you find me, can you find me, walking through the door?
I'm making plans with you
I'll be your downfall
We're on a mission, don't get in our way
God is the leader, it doesn't matter what you say
A right to life for all that agree with us
Infiltrate blasphemous strongholds
Oh this is it, put 'em on death row
You can't find me, you can't find me
I'm right under your nose
We won't be finished 'til we force the clinics closed
Oh no, we've seen the writing on the wall
The Lord has spoken
Oh no, we've seen the writing on the wall
How can you to stop us?
Infiltrate blasphemous strongholds
Oh this is it, put 'em on death row
You can't find me, you can't find me
I'm right under your nose
We won't be finished 'til we force the clinics closed
Oh no, we've seen the writing on the wall
The Lord has spoken
Oh no, we've seen the writing on the wall
How can you to stop us?
We will take back our communities from you perverted, homosexual, baby killing freaks
In the name of God and country and the right to bare arms
By any means necessary, we'll fight for what is ours
We've had enough of this liberal facade
Destroy the nuts and hippies, the anarcho-commie squads,
Can you find us, can you find us, we're a moral majority
We've even got leaders on your leftist run TV
Oh no, we've seen the writing on the wall
The Lord has spoken
Oh no, we've seen the writing on the wall
The Lord has spoken
Oh no, we've seen the writing on the wall
The Lord has spoken
Oh no, we've seen the writing on the wall
How can you to stop
How can you to stop
How can you to stop us?
The lyrics of Youth Brigade's song Spies for Life depict the perspective of an extremist group that is willing to use violence in order to achieve what they believe to be a righteous cause. The song is specifically about the anti-abortion movement and the tactics that some groups use in order to shut down clinics and intimidate those who provide or seek abortion services. The opening lines suggest that the group may be difficult to identify, as they have likely taken measures to conceal their identities and activities. The lines "Can you find me, can you find me, walking through the door? I'm making plans with you, I'll be your downfall" suggest a level of deception and manipulation that will be used in order to achieve their goals.
The lyrics also invoke a sense of nationalism and religious fervor. The group claims to have God on their side, and does not care about opposing viewpoints. They claim that the "lives that we save are worth any cost," which is a chilling statement when put in the context of anti-abortion violence. The group describes their mission as being to "force the clinics closed" and to "take back our communities from you perverted, homosexual, baby killing freaks." Despite the violent rhetoric, the group sees themselves as being in the right, and frames their actions as being necessary to protect their values and beliefs.
Overall, the lyrics of Spies for Life are disturbing in their portrayal of an extremist group that is willing to use violence and intimidation to push their agenda. The song serves as a reminder of the dangers of extremism, and the importance of protecting the rights and safety of all individuals, regardless of their beliefs or views.
