Pater Noster
Ysabella Brave Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Sanctificetur nomen Tuum
Adveniat regnum Tuum
Fiat voluntas Tua
Sicut in coelo et in terra
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie
Et dimitte nobis debita nostra
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem
Sed libera nos a malo
Amen
The lyrics of Ysabella Brave's song "Pater Noster" are a Latin version of the Christian Lord's Prayer. The prayer begins with "Our Father, who art in heaven," and Brave sings "Pater noster, qui es in coelis," which means the same thing. The next line is "Sanctificetur nomen Tuum," which translates to "Hallowed be thy name," and is essentially a call to recognize and honor God's holiness.
The following lines include a plea for God's kingdom to come and for his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. The song then asks for daily sustenance in the form of "Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie" (Give us this day our daily bread) and for forgiveness for our debts, as we forgive those who owe us. The prayer finishes with a plea for protection from temptation and evil, ending with "Amen."

Ojcze nasz, któryś jest w niebie, Święć się imię twoje, Przyjdź Królestwo twoje, Bądź wola twoja, jak w niebie, tak i na ziemi. Chleba naszego powszedniego daj nam dzisiaj. I odpuść nam nasze winy, jak i my odpuszczamy naszym winowajcom; I nie wódź nas na pokuszenie, ale nas zbaw ode złego; Albowiem twoje jest Królestwo i moc, i chwała na wieki wieków. thank you for the song:0) Amen

This is the first video/song I have heard from you that is in the traditionally classical style. I must admit, I'm STILL extremely impressed. Artists who can effortlessly flow between the classical and contemporary and maintain, first, their individual style, and second, their control and appeal, are few and far between. Congratulations on another triumph!
