Following the show, Onguenet signed to Polydor Records under the name Yseult, and announced that she was preparing her debut album, working with French composer and singer, Emmanuel Da Silva. In May 2014, Yseult released the lead single to her album, "La Vague", the video to which she later posted on her Vevo channel. As of December 2020, the music video has over one million views.

Que la vie te malmène
Tu dis
Rien ne se gagne, tout se perd
C'est peine perdue
Hey tu crois
Que rien n'en vaut la peine
Dis
Tu es mon sombrero
Ma Californie
Ma terre, mon exil
Du soleil à l'ombre
Tu es mon sombrero
Ma Californie
Du courage, du courage
Tu dis
Tous les jours sont les mêmes
Dis-moi
Ne vois-tu pas que c'est toi qui fou tout en l'air?
Hey tu crois
Que tu n'as pas de veine
Dis
Penses-tu à moi quand tu balances tout à l'eau?
Tu es mon sombrero
Ma Californie
Ma terre, mon exil
Du soleil à l'ombre
Tu es mon sombrero
Ma Californie
Du courage, du courage
Tu es mon sombrero
Ma Californie
Ma terre, mon exil
Du soleil à l'ombre
Tu es mon sombrero
Ma Californie
Du courage, du courage
The lyrics of Yseult's song "Californie" centers around the singer's desire to connect with someone who is going through a difficult time. The song captures the feeling of being isolated and feeling like nobody understands your pain. The opening lines set the tone for the song, as Yseult sings "Tu dis que la vie te malmène" (You say that life is mistreating you). She empathizes with the person she's singing to, acknowledging that life can be tough and that sometimes it feels like nothing is going right.
However, Yseult refuses to give up hope. She encourages the person to think about her and not give up, singing "Du courage, du courage" (Be brave, be brave). Throughout the song, she uses the metaphor of a sombrero and California to represent the feelings of strength and freedom. The sombrero represents protection from the heat of the sun, and California represents a place of hope and opportunity.
