Slave Knight Gael was of the order of the slave knights, who were basically canon fodder in the wars through time. Gael was conscripted in that order and fought for the gods through almost every major conflict in history without ever going hollow, which in and of itself is fucking insane. But then the age of fire faded and Gael pretty much outlived all of his masters and decided he was tired of this shit and walked the earth, when he stumbled upon the painted world of Ariandel and met the painter girl. now i might just be stupid but or forgor but i dont think we know exactly how he met her or got into her service but basically he wants her to be able to "see flame" according to a prophecy that says that "when the ashes are two, a flame alighteth", basically meaning that when two ashen ones would meet within the painting, they would cause it to burn away, allowing a new painted world to be created. and so it becomes Gael's purpose to help her paint this world, but unfortunately the painted worlds dont last forever, so Gael makes it his duty to find a pigment that would last forever, that would make an eternal painting. that is when his quest for the blood of the dark soul began, and the reason for his presence in the Ringed City. originally he intend on simply gathering the pigment of the dark soul within the blood of the pygmy lords but as he would discover, their blood had already dried out and there was nothing to be recovered of it. so Gael sought out the only other way he could have to gather the dark soul, killing every human still alive. and so Gael, known as "the Red Hood" by those who feared him began to wander the earh, killing and drinking the blood of every human and hollow he encountered to gather the dark soul within himself. when you touch Fillianore's egg you are basically transported several thousand years in the future, the world is covered in ash, everyone is fucking dead and ruined castles stretch across the landscape. and there you find Gael, who has gathered such a massive part of the dark soul within himself that he has grown much bigger than before, his darksign has made a giant hole in his chest and he's gone completly mad but he still isnt hollow, remembering his duty to gather the blood of the dark soul within himself. now here's the thing, Gael knew that he could never bring the dark soul back, that it would surely drive him mad and thats why he guides you through the dreg heap, he knows that a warrior would come and surely finish him off to bring the pigment to his lady. in the first phase of the fight he fights simply to eat your dark soul, as he did with everyone else, then you put him in second phase and upon seeing his blood, he comes to the realisation: "Ahh, is this the blood... the blood of the dark soul?..", upon realising that his blood contains the pigment of the dark soul, Gael knows he's accomplished his duty, he's gathered the entirety of the dark soul of man within himself and finally goes hollow, his quest finally finished and we know he's hollow because the hollowslayer sword deals bonus damage to him in his second phase. now in the third phase however, shit gets real, as Gael is not only weak to hollowslayer weapons, he also becomes weak to the Farron Greatsword and the Wolf Knight Greatsword, which have bonus damage against abyssal enemies, the abyss being conjured originally by Manus, the first human and the one to give the dark soul to humanity. what this implies is that at that point the dark soul has basically consummed Gael entirely, with skull looking particles emmiting from Gael's body, he is literally bleeding the power of the dark soul all over the arena. at that point Gael is gone, he's not there anymore, you are fighting the embodiment of the dark soul lashing out through his body. then you put him to rest and bring the pigment to the painter who can finally paint a world that will never rot away and make for a cold and gentle home for what is left of this world.

That's because if it is Latin, its pronunciation is vastly different from the way it is written half the time. Think of the word Worcestershire, but imagine an entire language like that. That's Latin. Mihi for example, is pronounced more like Miahaa, though that's a bit embellished. You'll see this very strongly even in languages closely related to Latin, such as Italian or Spanish. Half of it is pronounced as it is written. The other half has zilch in common writing wise with their pronunciation.

Even much of DS1 that I thought was synthesized apparently had a lot of live recordings. Both Elden Ring and DS3 has a choir credited too. In the case of Elden Ring they even got a public Thank You over Twitter from this choir, which hailed from Hungary. He didn't. They all got axed by Copyright. Every Elden Ring theme, from every uploader. The ones from dudewhereismyspoon all had 1-15M views already, and they just got booted. Hundreds of thousands of comments from people delving into the lore, giving the game enormous exposure due to the algorithm, all gone. Tragic as fuck. I hope Olmos archived his tracks somewhere. But those views can never be given back, and those comments will never be rewritten. It's horrible. Legit heartbreaking. I loved those conversations where the entire community banded together for new insights and debates below the soundtracks of each boss.

It is, they largely use synthetic vocals for the songs in these games but they are synthesized from real choir samples so you still get traces of
Latin in there but very distorted. These translations aren't one to one but are instead the translator picking out what they can and trying to tie it together in a way that makes sense.

@@glockenspiel604 Depends on what you mean by ''these games''. DS1 was synth for vocals. DS2 too. Bloodborne, DS3 and Elden Ring however all have orchestras and choirs credited.
