1) Yukka is a Dutch indie rock band founded in 1995. In 2005 guitar player Ivo Maassen joined the band. Nowadays, the band is being compared with various groups including Sioen, Stereophonics, Paul Weller and The Afghan Whigs. On stage, Yukka wil bring an intense performance, containing intimate, explosive, but also humorous moments. Yukka also has a web site in Dutch. Yukka split up in the end of 2008, but came back in 2018 with the release of a new EP 'Studio Moscow'.

2) YUKKA is a Japanese female vocalist who has performed theme songs for various games. One of the songs is 恋のぱにっく☆るーむ, which was used for the game 3LDK by DEEPBLUE. YUKKA can be seen on the right here, together with 佐藤裕美 (left).

Overall Meaning

In Yukka's song Hide Away, the lyrics express the singer's feelings towards their lover who they miss dearly. They are haunted by memories of them, as they continuously find pieces of their lover in everything they play. The singer admits that there is something they want to say, but they are unable to put it into words. The song describes the fear of losing their lover- much like a bough breaking from a tree- but they find comfort in the idea of hiding away with them.

The second verse contains some vivid imagery as the singer describes their lover's breasts as a holy land. The singer acknowledges that there are parts of their lover that they cannot access and dare not tread upon. However, even the simple act of watching their lover run in their pajamas brings them both fear and excitement. The song goes back into the chorus, reassuring the listener that they could always hide away with their lover, come what may.
