When rap called to me I was inspired by the movie “Get Rich or Die Trying.” This movie inspired me because it shows how your dreams make out who you are and based on the determination and motivation makes out who you will become. I wasn’t the only one to feel this way, a couple friends of mine felt the same, so we put or heads and talent together to form a rap crew called “Blaze Kidz.” After we came up with the name for the crew we all agreed to have the word Blaze in our name so I thought long and hard and at the time I was known for my temper and people would always say that once I’m mad my anger raises like a blazing fire and I was young so I got dibbs on, Yung Blaze. We recorded one song and what gets to me is that that one song had no meaning we just said anything that sounded cool or that gave us more of a hardcore reputation but at the time it didn’t matter what we said it just sounded cool. I took leadership in to my own hands and told them that we had to record another song but because other people liked the first they became cocky and selfish and I didn’t want to be part of that, so I left the group and went solo.
After being solo for about 1 month I realized that it was hard to come with song topics especially when I didn’t have 4 other heads on the job so I quit. Sometime later I went through a series of life changing events with girls, family, friends, and myself. I explored my emotions and my feelings and wrote down how I felt and ever where I went I heard a beat in my head and made the words match the beat and from that point I knew that my emotions and feelings were my fuel to my songs.
Further down the road when I got into high school I took my music career more seriously by entering talent shows, performing at clubs, parties or even just free styling in public but I knew that music is what I wanted to do it was like a second nature to me. I ended up becoming better and better honing my skills and taken myself to the next level. I’m still not signed but I’m not giving up I will continue to do what I do best and my rewards will follow.
