I haven't watched the whole series yet, but I can understand why the company hired this guy. He's 'scared' for a moment, and moves on the next second. Dudes so chill whenever he finds blood or corpses. He didn't even have a problem leaving that other dude tied to the chair behind.

The DLC expands on what'd happen if he actually gained power as well. Brian's not who he seems, it doesn't make him a bad person, but he sure as HELL isn't just some weakling guy, he may be scared, but he has drive, even greed.
I like that he's subtly more complex then he looks if you pay attention to how he actually acts and what he says.
