Bliss
ZES Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I need to know if you're up for this
Can you take this bliss from me
But i need to know if you're up for this
Can you take this bliss from me

I need to know if you're up for this
Do you need this kiss from me
But i need to know if you're up for this
Can you take this bliss from me

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of ZES's song Bliss speak about the uncertainties and anxieties that come with entering a new relationship. The singer wants to know if the person they are interested in is ready and willing to accept the intense emotions and happiness that come with love, represented here as "bliss." The repetition of the first two lines emphasizes the importance of knowing whether the other person can handle the singer's feelings, while the line "do you need this kiss from me" suggests a desire for reciprocity in the relationship. The overall tone is one of vulnerability and cautious optimism, as the singer does not want to risk being hurt by someone who cannot handle the weight of their emotions.

ZES's atmospheric production and use of echo and reverb create a dreamy, otherworldly soundscape that matches the introspective lyrics. The gentle piano melody and sparse percussion contribute to a sense of introspection and reflection. In all, Bliss is a tender, intimate song that captures the universal feelings of uncertainty and excitement that come with new experiences and relationships.

for all those wondering there is sound in space. whilst space is a virtual vacuum, sound does exist in the form of electromagnetic vibrations that pulsate in similar wavelengths. earlier this year, in mid may i think, nasa manaaged to record these sounds and translate them into waves that we can hear, you can google it or go direct to nasa's webpage. in short sound exists everywhere in the universe, we just arent capable of hearing it is all. we would need to compress (as the vibrating atoms that make the sound are too far apart in deep space) to translate as nasa has done. check out their page for these sounds - also on youtube too, the ones of rings of saturn, sun and uranus are the most haunting. i just hope hans zimmer finds a way to incoporate these into his work for another film like interstellar :D
