The lyrics of ZICO's Dead Leaves highlight the struggle of moving on from a past relationship. The song is filled with various emotions such as regret, sadness, and a sense of loss. The first verse talks about holding onto dead leaves, which is a metaphor for holding onto something that has passed and cannot be retrieved. The next few lines describe the struggle of overcoming the pain of a broken relationship, as the singer tries to bury their feelings and move on but keeps getting reminded of their lost love.
The second verse continues with the same theme, as the singer talks about the pain of letting go and the difficulty of accepting the end of a relationship. The line "please don't leave me alone, I didn't know" expresses regret and a desire to hold on to what was lost. The chorus repeats the metaphor of dead leaves, as the singer admits that they cannot move on from the past and feel stuck in the same place.
Overall, the lyrics of Dead Leaves convey a sense of emotional turmoil and the difficulty of letting go of a past love. The song is poignant and relatable, and the metaphor of dead leaves effectively illustrates the sense of loss and finality that comes with the end of a relationship.
