*sigh*. Zack Hemsey. An excellent musician, and an astounding philosopher. While I know this is a song without lyrics, it still hits the same. I don't know if Mr. Hemsey reads the comments on these old videos, but I like to think he occasionally looks to see the people still appreciating the work he put in. I don't know what he's doing or what he's got planned for music in the future, if any. However, everything he has made will stay with me for my entire life.

My first time encountering his music was the audio for the main menu of Falling Skies Season 1 and Season 2 on DVD, and the song was "See What I've Become". I was a child at the time, mostly absorbed in rock music, so that menu music catching my attention was shocking for me back then. I watched that show to its conclusion, and is one of less than 6 shows I can say that for. And that song being used as menu music is one of the reasons I sat down with the family to watch it, because the audio was just so amazing.

Zack Hemsey. A talented individual who made music not for the masses per se, but music for the soul. Many have probably heard parts of his work, but never given the actual creator a look beyond something like the Inception soundtrack or the Equalizer. But few ever dove into his work, and examined the teachings contained within. To say that Mr. Hemsey's music had an impact on my life would be an understatement. His music formed the foundation for many of my morals, beliefs, and philosophies. His music is, in essence, a part of me now. And I will never forget it until I eventually lay on my deathbed. And when that time comes however many decades down the line, I will request one of these songs be played at my funeral.

Thank you, Mr. Hemsey. For everything you've done. While your music never quite reached extreme fame and popularity, it reached the people that would take it the most to heart. This adds to its charm, and makes the feeling of the music unparalleled to many works. Should you have decided that you are done with composing music, I wish you a pleasant farewell, and good wishes for what you choose to do with the remainder of your life.

A toast. A toast to the Greatest Never Known, and a prayer that history will find its place for not only your music, but you as a person. A toast to Zack Hemsey.

Fun On Everything

I showed this song to my son a week ago, and now he comes to Youtube everyday to listen to the song on repeat. When it is being played, he just sits there and becomes totally quiet and focused. It's like changing to a different person and he is only 3 and a half.
