Alka Seltzer!
{au Refrain}
A peine né j'ai fait "ah" elle a fait "hourra"
comme une victoire de Djamel Bourras
j'étais comment dire sans me fouler
The song 'Le Plus Beau' by Zebda tells the story of a deep, intense and reverential mother-son relationship. The opening lines of the song describe how the mother declared the newborn child to be her son and treated him as if he were a cherished treasure. She saw herself as the queen, and he was her precious flower. This connection is highlighted particularly in the line "comme une épaule accroche une médaille". It sets the tone for the rest of the song, emphasizing the presence of a strong connection between them.
Throughout the song, the lyrics unravel the deep bond they share. The mother does not want her son to fly too high, so he doesn't become too proud or fall. "Je veux pas que t'aies d'ailes dans le dos" shows her desire for him to remain under her guidance, safely tucked under her wings. The son is happy to comply with his mother's wishes, content to be her most cherished possession. She provides him with nourishment, and he acknowledges her constant and unconditional support.
The song is a beautiful and tender reflection on the unbreakable bond between a mother and her child. Zebda uses poetic metaphors to describe the intensity of the relationship between the mother and son, and also to highlight the importance of the mother in his life.

il en faut qu'une
You only need one
