1) Zebra is a hard rock band founded in 1975 in New Orleans, Louisiana. It features Randy Jackson (guitar and vocals), Felix Hanemann (bass, keyboards and vocals) and Guy Gelso (drums and vocals). In the early 1970s, Jackson and Hanemann played together in a group called Shepherd's Bush, but in 1974 they left Shepherd's Bush and founded a new band with Gelso on drums. The group initially was a cover band, playing Led Zeppelin and other technically proficient rock groups such as Yes, Jethro Tull, and Pink Floyd. In 1975, the group adopted the name Zebra after seeing a cover of the magazine Vogue featuring a woman riding a zebra. Initially based in New Orleans, they increasingly played more often on Long Island, and eventually all three members moved there to pursue success. They had introduced their original material into their cover sets years before they were signed to Atlantic Records, including "The La La Song", "Free" and "Bears" (originally entitled "The Bears are Hibernating").
Zebra had been noticed by local colleges and even had some of their early original performances recorded by Long Island FM radio station WBAB, culminating in the inclusion of one of their songs on a release of "WBAB Homegrown Album", which commemorated local acts and performances culled from the station's on-air "Homegrown Hour" program.
Zebra's mainstream debut on Atlantic Records was in 1983 with their eponymous album, produced by Jack Douglas and featuring the singles "Tell Me What You Want" and "Who's Behind The Door?" The band continued to tour throughout the 1980s, but took a temporary break in the early 1990s after being dropped by Atlantic Records. Randy Jackson formed his solo band Randy Jackson's China Rain, and released its only album in the year 1991. Zebra finally reunited in 1994 and released Zebra IV in 2003, their first album of all-new material since 1986. A DVD of live performances, mostly from a show at the House of Blues in New Orleans, was released in the summer of 2007.
On July 10, 2010, during their 35th-anniversary performance at New Orleans' Mahalia Jackson Theater, Zebra was inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. On October 8, 2012, Zebra was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. In March 2013, Zebra performed on Cruise to the Edge, a concert cruise featuring notable progressive rock bands including Yes, Steve Hackett, U.K., Carl Palmer Band, Ambrosia, Saga, Nektar, Glass Hammer, and IOEarth.
Although Zebra has not released any studio material since 2003's Zebra IV, the band continues to perform live, mostly in the Gulf Coast and East Coast of the United States, including New Orleans and New York City. In February 2017, Jackson reported to Shreveport Times that the band was working on a new album: "I have new material and hopefully weβll get to work on a new record in the next couple of months. As of March 2022, there has been no news of the project.

Smaddy get shot - Rupert
The song "Rupert" by Zebra delves into the story of a man named Rupert, who is rumored to be involved in some criminal or gang-related activities. The lyrics speak about various incidents where Rupert's name or his deeds are mentioned. The chorus "Sey yuh waan know Rupert, Blouse and skirt" is repeated throughout the song, indicating the notion that Rupert is someone to stay away from or beware of.
The first verse speaks about how the singer wakes up to the news that Rupert is dead, and he is angry and hurt by his death. The second verse is more chaotic, with gunshots and people retreating from the area. The third verse is narrated from a third-person point of view and talks about how Rupert was killed and how the person who killed him then started running. The fourth verse is a commentary on people's behavior and how they need to stop taking life for granted. The final verse speaks about the consequences of wrongdoings and how one can learn from the mistakes of others.

I woke up this morning and decided not to go to work. I put on pants and a pretty shirt because I planned on impressing a girl. I heard someone shout an alert, and then heard that Rupert had caused chaos again.
People dead! Me sey who? - Rupert Mi go over deh a mi go see him inna dirt Di way how me bex, mi sey everybody hurt Mi a di fus' man sey, nuh mek di jeep splurt A man draw fi a stone outta di dirt And sey A obstacle must get hurt Boop an lick a girl in har skirt Mi hear she shout out Blouse and skirt Dem deh time blood a decorate di skirt
People were injured or killed because of Rupert. I went to see what happened and saw him lying in the dirt. I got angry and told people not to disturb the area. Someone threw a stone and said that obstacles must be harmed. A girl was hit and she screamed out 'Blouse and skirt', and her skirt was covered in blood.
Bop! Bop! shot start fire A man sey 'Hombre come we retire' Shines say 'no man, puncture di tire' Yeah! Gunshots were heard and someone suggested that they leave, but another person wanted to puncture the jeep tire. More gunshots happened and someone asked if they were using an uzi, and someone else said it was a glock. Tear gas was used and the singer locked the door and went back to sleep, choosing to avoid gunshots.
Mi a go tell yuh how di youth get hurt Him sey him eat till him belly did a run So him wake up and go do-do Over di burial ground So a come him a come See a jeep and go run Bow! an dem shoot him dung A man started to talk whey did dumb Three couple man jump a fence Whey dem Nobody know dem nuh waa get gun dung
The artist is going to explain how a young person got hurt. The person ate too much and had to run to the bathroom. They went to the burial ground and saw a jeep, and ran. Gunshots were heard, the person was shot, and someone spoke foolishly. A few people jumped a fence to avoid getting shot.
As him a come di door lock An look how long it did open Yet him inna line, through dem start back voting Look how much time poor people heart been broken Long time dem a dweet dem fi stop di joking Mine what yuh drinking, Mine what yuh smoking Life worth living don't tek it fi joke ting Yuh nuh see poker box, stop pay out token
The door was locked even though it had been open for a long time. The line was long because people had started to vote again. Poor people have been hurt for too long, and the artist thinks it's time for things to change. People need to be careful of what they drink and smoke, and take life seriously. The artist also calls for others to stop gambling so much.

People of all races should learn from their mistakes. Life is precious and can be taken away at any moment. The singer wants people to stop doing wrong, as it can lead to people getting killed. The singer also mentions that people try to create more solutions, but may set more traps. The singer also implies that they avoid drinking or eating from things that belong to others. Finally, the singer comments that some people may seem smart, but can make foolish mistakes (like Rupert causing chaos).
