Push Play
Zedd Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

With my words, across your face,
You're making up stories of your own.
Little bits of white paper,
In pockets deeper than you know.

You painted black upon the whitest lies
You've seen them fall, you have seen them rise,
You painted black upon the whitest lies, lies, your lies.

Push play, stop rewind
You drown your heroes in red wine.
Push play, stop rewind,
You drown your heroes in red wine.
Push play, stop rewind
You drown your heroes in red wine.
Push play, stop rewind.

You painted black upon the whitest lies
You've seen them fall, you have seen them rise,
You painted black upon the whitest lies, lies, your lies.

Push play, stop rewind
You drown your heroes in red wine.
Push play, stop rewind,
You drown your heroes in red wine.

Close enough to see your hands sneaking out of his embrace
Paper thin, whispering, breaking in
You painted black upon the whitest lies
You've seen them fall, you have seen them rise,
You painted black upon the whitest lies, lies, your lies.

Push play, stop rewind
You drown your heroes in red wine.
Push play, stop rewind,
You drown your heroes in red wine.

Push play, stop rewind
You drown your heroes in red wine.
Push play, stop rewind,
You drown your heroes in red wine.

Push play, stop rewind
Push play, stop rewind
You drown your heroes in red wine.
Push play, stop rewind

The first Zedd song I ever remember hearing was Stay the Night in Sept 2012 and didn't know it was him. I knew it was Haley Williams singing, so I just thought it was a new Paramore song. The radio played it less than five times. Fast forward to August 2014, I'm working at an organic cafe in Orangeburg, SC and listening to KIIS 102.7 FM out of Los Angeles on iheartradio and Stay the Night comes on. I look at my phone and it says Zedd, I automatically get iheartradio to build me the Zedd channel.

My favorite Zedd songs in order are:

Find You
Stay the Night
Clarity
Want You to Know
Spectrum
Push Play

Zedd is by far my favourite artist currently. While most artists find one hook and replay it the whole song only changing the octave zedd's music completely changes throughout the song. At one point it can be slow and interesting and the next fast and fun. It's almost hard to keep up I love it!

Well said!

@MrSkyzel

I love artist's who do that. Check out Savant as well, he does the same. However I agree that Zedd is an amazing artist. ^.^
