DC and Hooks have been producing music together since 2004, formerly as Mass Productions. In the summer of 2007, they released one Hip-Hop influenced album as Mass Productions, entitled Fresh Beetz, before launching Zeds Dead in 2009.
Zeds Dead's tireless efforts have earned them an excellent reputation amongst a new generation of producers as artists without borders - genres hold no bearing over their music as they transcend style and form with ease. They have established themselves as a dominant force in EDM circles and have received recognition and praise from tastemakers worldwide.
In October of 2010 the duo released a remix of "Eyes on Fire" by Blue Foundation which became a megahit in the dubstep scene at the time, and is now considered an absolute classic.
On March 1, 2016, Zeds Dead announced they had launched their own record label, Deadbeats, alongside the release of a new track "Back Home" featuring Freddie Gibbs. Later that year they released their debut album Northern Lights through their label Deadbeats, and subsequently embarked on a tour of the same name.
Their name was derived from a line in Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, said by Bruce Willis. "Zeds dead baby".

Gazing at people
Some hand in hand
Just what I'm going through
They can't understand
Some try to tell me Thoughts they cannot defend
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end
And I love you
Yes I love you
Oh how I love you
Oh how I love you
Zed's Dead, baby
Oh my god I- [x4]
Gazing at people
Some hand in hand
Just what I'm going through
They can't understand
Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end
And I love you
Yes I love you
Oh how I love you
Oh how I love you
Oh my god I- [x4]
Nights in white satin [x2]
Never reaching the end
Letters I've written
Never meaning to send
The song "White Satin" by Zeds Dead is a cover of The Moody Blues' "Nights in White Satin" from their 1967 album "Days of Future Passed." The lyrics of the song deal with the confusion and turmoil that can arise from trying to understand oneself and the world around us in the face of others who may not understand or support us. The opening lines set the scene of the singer gazing at couples and feeling that they don't understand what he is going through. He expresses frustration with those who try to tell him what to do, but can't defend their thoughts. The chorus of the song, which is repeated throughout, features the singer proclaiming his love for someone, perhaps to counteract the feelings of confusion and frustration he is experiencing.
The song features a repeated phrase of "Oh my god I" which could be interpreted as the singer trying to find the right words to express his feelings or as an exclamation of the intensity of what he is experiencing. The final lines of the song refer back to the title of the original song, with the singer describing how he has written letters that he never intended to send, perhaps as a way of processing his emotions without fully exposing himself.
Overall, the lyrics of "White Satin" are a heartfelt exploration of the difficulties of understanding oneself and others and the power of love to overcome these challenges.

Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.
'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Gazing at people,
Some hand in hand,
Just what I'm going thru
They can understand.
Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end,
And I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.
Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Never meaning to send.

Oh, how I love you
Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bed sitter people look back and lament
Another days useless energy spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is gray and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion
