Storm's coming, and you've been running from the dark clouds
No one can catch you now
It's like no one, no one knows where you came from
It's like no one, no one knows where you came from
I believed it, in the end
I was mistaken
Be the first one, to let you in
It's like no one, no one knows where you came from
It's like no one, no one knows where you came from
You use Missouri outlaw
Arrows wave the past behind
You use Missouri outlaw
Red horse chase until they die
Josey Wales, you're like Josey Wales
Josey Wales, you're like Josey Wales
Lived forever, stripes of gold
Took the living, reflect your face in every window
There's nothing, to hold you down
It's like no one, no one knows where you came from
It's like no one, no one knows where you came from
You use Missouri outlaw
Arrows wave the past behind
You use Missouri outlaw
Red horse chase until they die
Josey Wales, you're like Josey Wales
Josey Wales, you're like Josey Wales
You use Missouri outlaw
Arrows wave the past behind
You use Missouri outlaw
Red horse chase until they die
Josey Wales, you're like Josey Wales
Josey Wales, you're like Josey Wales
Zella Day's "The Outlaw Josey Wales" is a song about a fugitive who has been on the run and stealing money from the town. With a storm brewing on the horizon, the outlaw remains uncaught as if no one knows where he came from. The singer, who previously believed in the outlaw's mission, is beginning to realize that there is something more at play, and she has been mistaken. The outlaw's past may be catching up to him, but he is still like an arrow, swiftly navigating through life and leaving his past behind.
The lyrics pay homage to the 1976 western movie "The Outlaw Josey Wales," starring Clint Eastwood. The film's protagonist, Josey Wales, is a former Confederate soldier seeking revenge against Union soldiers who killed his family. While initially a violent outlaw, he later becomes a hero as he defends a group of Native Americans from American settlers. The song also echoes the themes of the film, such as escaping one's past and finding redemption through heroism.

About a year ago, I asked my friends if they knew who Zella Day was. Their responses usually consisted of a confused grin with the words, "Who is that?" A few days ago, I asked my friends again if they knew who Zella Day was. Five of them jumped in excitement and were like, "Oh my god, I love her songs so much!" I am seriously so glad that Kicker was released, because I just know this is where your career is going to kick off big time! Hope you make a video on these songs! :)

@Rigo Hernandez well they aren't as good, and yea a couple years ago i was almost certain she was gonna be on the rise

Aqua 47 Flawless β’ Yeah, unfortunately it didnβt, but at the time she was gaining popularity so I assumed she would have gotten more recognition. I think her not releasing any new music or albums closely after Kicker came out had something to do with it. A lot of her songs (mostly hypnotic and high) were making their way on tv show soundtracks but she didnβt really take advantage of the momentum building up. I know she released Hunnie Pie and High on the Moon (or something like that) but I guess it wasnβt enough. I havenβt listened to her in years so Iβm not sure about the new music or videos sheβs been posting

Don't wanna be that guy, but her career didn't kick off. Atleast we have this amazing album.
