They began as studio engineers at Mickie Most's RAK recording studio in London, engineering music for British groups like the Pet Shop Boys, Young Disciples, and Robert Plant. In 1997 they were asked by a college friend, Nigel Godrich (who was busy producing 'OK Computer'), to remix Radiohead's "Climbing Up the Walls". They called the mix "the Zero 7 Mix" which stuck.

Normal, you and me
What you're signing on for
Is a storm at sea
So if you think you're tough
Give me all your love
And I'll give you every little piece of me
Catch a falling star you'll go far
In the pageant of the bizarre
And tonight I give you my heart
Catch a falling star you'll go far
In the pageant of the bizarre
And tonight I give you my heart
We will never be a nuclear family
But a rainbow will begin at our feet
And if you take my hand
Beware that this boat can
Run aground making the ocean floor weep
Catch a falling star you'll go far
In the pageant of the bizarre
And tonight I give you my heart
Catch a falling star you'll go far
In the pageant of the bizarre
And tonight I give you my heart
Catch a falling star you'll go far
In the pageant of the bizarre
And tonight I give you my heart
Catch a falling star you'll go far
In the pageant of the bizarre
And tonight I give you my heart
Take a chance on me, yeah
You're my remedy, yeah
You may fall indeed, yeah
You'll find peace with me, yeah
Take a chance on me, yeah
You're my remedy, yeah
You may fall indeed, yeah
You'll find peace with me, yeah
Peace with me, yeah
Take a chance on me, yeah
You're my remedy, yeah
You may fall indeed, yeah
You'll find peace with me, yeah
The song "The Pageant of the Bizarre" by Zero 7 featuring Sia, is a reflection on the unconventional nature of love between the two lovers. The lyrics suggest that theirs will never be a traditional relationship, and while it may be stormy at times, it is bound to be full of surprises and adventures. The imagery of a "storm at sea" and the reference to a "nuclear family" emphasize the fact that they are different and not conforming to societal norms. However, despite the unconventional nature of their bond, they are willing to offer each other their whole selves and take each other as they are.
As the chorus repeats the line "Catch a falling star you'll go far," it suggests that taking a chance on love, even if it's different from what we know, is worth it. The "pageant of the bizarre" refers to the unique and diverse characters that make up the world, and they are part of it. They are ready to embrace each other and all the weirdness of the world, and together they will create their own rainbow - a symbol of hope and beauty amidst chaos.

I take this song as two people who have grown up with horrible childhoods and horrible relationships to follow in adulthood. Then those two people finally find each other in a world that doesnt see them, but they see each other. They go through their turbulence together, and eventually find themselves safe with each other by not giving up on each other through their shit individually, and together. Hard to explain.
