I always thought the Super Mario World castle music was one of the most horror/anxiety-ridden songs ever. You'd think Bowser would have Mushroom Kingdom residents chained to the walls and hanging from the ceilings.

This and the New Super Mario Bros. castle theme both sound pretty dark for a Mario or kids game in general. However Super Mario World definitely takes the cake.
