The "core" band consists of Gorazd "Goga" Sedmak (vocals, guitar), Žare Pavletič (bass guitar) and Aleš Koščak (drums, percussions) but they also have supporting team which are: Aleksandra Čermelj (vocal, violine), Eva Brajkovič (vocal) and Anuša Podgornik (synth, vocal, flute). They are known for funny and crazy songs and that despite this, the lyrics have a lot of deep metaphorical meaning. Their first creation was the EP "Streloowod + Brrr... + Čau sonček" with the song Čau Slonček that awakened the attention of the public. Their first big hit was Yo! from "Kdo se je zbral?" and from there on they became a favourite among rockers all over Slovenia (especially in the region from where they are), but they became known to larger, mainstream Slovenian public in 1999 with the song Bit from their "Dej, nosorog, pazi kam stopaš!" album. Many regard them as one of the best and most original rock bands in Slovenia, and the album "Čiko, Pajo in Pako" has achieved almost cult status among the youth because of it's melodical roughness, originality and lyrical content.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Zmelkoow's song Napacen Planet are about the singer's experiences on an unfamiliar planet. They start with a reference to the famous quote "Houston, we have a problem" to underscore the fact that something is going wrong. The singer reveals that in a previous song, he was stranded on this alien planet after falling from a tower. He is now hungry and calls a well-known company, Hallo Minestra, to order food. However, instead of taking his order, he hears a warm stream of air, a low feminine voice, and gets told that he is on a wrong planet -- a mistaken planet.

From this point, the singer narrates his experience, describing how he just wants to eat and has no interest in the fact that he might have dialed the wrong number. He hears muffled sounds on the phone, but the room becomes too hot, and the wire melts. The heat becomes unbearable for him, and he throws himself out of the window onto the street. He runs to the pub and orders two large beers to cool down, only to return to the house to see firefighters. They are erecting a Maypole to celebrate rather than trying to put out the fire, which is emblematic of the song's absurdly comical nature.

The song's lyrics are ridiculous and nonsensical, playing with words, and using imaginative, seemingly random descriptions to paint a vivid picture.
