Monday
ZoSia Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Monday, might as well be Sunday
You're so predictable
And so the story goes
Someday, we could be so happy
You're unbelievable
I've got no
You can't be right, all of the time
It's not gonna fly

Chorus
La la la la lalala la la... (repeately)

Monday, might as well be Sunday
You're so predictable
And so the story goes
All these *lies* they come so easily
It could be so crazy
How the story goes
You can't be right, all of the time
It's not gonna fly

Chorus
La la la la lalala la la... (repeatedly)

Stars shine, bright
Against the wind, fallin' again
They kiss my skin, Over and over again
And again and again...

Chorus
La la la la lalala la la... (repeatedly)

Crazy thinkin' you were the one for me
You made it so easy, I'm better off alone
Crazy how you think it's supposed to be

But now it's so clear to me
We're better off alone.

Overall Meaning

In ZoSia's song "Monday", the lyrics suggest a feeling of boredom and predictability in a relationship. The singer seems to be suggesting that the person they are with is always the same, and the story they tell is always the same. However, she imagines that they could be happy someday. It seems though that the relationship has a lot of lies and that it is not going to work if one person insists on always being right.

The chorus is a repeated sound of "La la la la lalala la la...", which can be interpreted in many ways, but could be a way to convey the feeling of monotony and boredom. In the bridge, some imagery is added to the song as the stars shine bright against the wind, falling again and again, kissing the singer's skin repeatedly. It's not entirely clear what this imagery means, but it seems that it is something poetically beautiful that is in contrast to the monotony of the singer's relationship.

Finally, the last verse seems to suggest that the singer has realized that she is better off alone than in a relationship that makes her feel bored, lied to, and unfulfilled. It is evident that the song is a breakup song and the singer has decided to move on rather than continue with the monotony of the relationship.

Know what. I love this, a person has written their ideas, thoughts, belief's and experiences into a beautiful song and has shared them with the world so cold and processed music like this isn't recognised any more. Well done....
