The group was founded in 1979 by Bernardo Bonezzi (Madrid, 1964-2012 ), who even before the age of fourteen had led a band called Morbus Acre and formed part of the seminal group of the Madrid scene Kaka de Luxe. The Zombies pooled influences of glam rock (Lou Reed, David Bowie, Brian Eno ) and new wave (Talking Heads, B- 52's ). They signed to RCA , who released the group's first single, the catchy "Groenland", a song that still remains among the best-known Spanish pop songs of the 80, and is present in numerous compilations of music from the decade.
Encouraged by the success of the single, they recorded their first album, 'Extraños juegos', one of the most successful pop albums of the 80s. However, following the release of the second LP, 'La muralla china', Bonezzi decided to leave the group in 1982 to pursue other projects.

I got a leak in my bucket and a great big hole in my floor
But if you wanna stay around and love me
You know it's all right with me
I've got no money, can't afford no big black car
The bank account won't see me very far
But if you wanna stay around and love me
I'm sick and tired of being on my own
But you know I'll take nobody
Who's gonna leave me tired and alone
So you see I can only offer a man that's poor
With frost in bed and trouble at my door
But if you wanna stay around and love me
You know it's all right with me
Ooh, ooh
At first glance, the lyrics of the song seem to be about a man who is potentially in a vulnerable state in his life, with a "leak in [his] bucket" and "a great big hole in [his] floor." Despite this, he still has an openness and willingness to love, with the repeated refrain of "if you wanna stay around and love me, you know it's all right with me." The singer acknowledges that they may not have a lot to offer materially or financially, with no money for a big black car and little in their bank account, but again emphasises their willingness to love and to be loved.
The lyrics also suggest a cautionary tone, with the singer warning anyone who wants to "mess around" to "stay away from [their] door." It could be interpreted that the singer has been hurt before, and so now they are more vigilant and protecting themselves. However, the singer is still willing to take a chance on love with someone who is genuine and not just looking to use them.
