The group was founded in 1979 by Bernardo Bonezzi (Madrid, 1964-2012 ), who even before the age of fourteen had led a band called Morbus Acre and formed part of the seminal group of the Madrid scene Kaka de Luxe. The Zombies pooled influences of glam rock (Lou Reed, David Bowie, Brian Eno ) and new wave (Talking Heads, B- 52's ). They signed to RCA , who released the group's first single, the catchy "Groenland", a song that still remains among the best-known Spanish pop songs of the 80, and is present in numerous compilations of music from the decade.
Encouraged by the success of the single, they recorded their first album, 'Extraños juegos', one of the most successful pop albums of the 80s. However, following the release of the second LP, 'La muralla china', Bonezzi decided to leave the group in 1982 to pursue other projects.
Remember You

When I think of this place
When I'm thinking back
I'll remember
When I'm far, far away
I'll remember today
When I'm thinking back
I won't forget you
And if I should change my mind
And I do sometimes
You know I do sometimes
I'll come back to you
I'll remember that smile
In your eyes all the while
When I'm thinking back
I'll remember
Comes a day when I'm down
My thoughts turn around
To when I last saw you
I can't forget you
And if I should change my mind
And I do sometimes
You know I do sometimes
I'll come back to you
And if I should change my mind
And I do sometimes
You know I do sometimes
I'll come back to you
Remember, remember, remember, remember
Remember, remember, remember you
The lyrics to Zombies' song "You" are a nostalgic reflection of memories and the promise of returning to someone who has left an indelible mark on their life. The song speaks of a person who is reminiscing about the past and the memories associated with a specific place. They remember the face of someone who was special to them and are certain that they won't forget them, even when they are far away. The lyrics convey a sense of longing to be with that person again, even though they may have separated for some reason. The refrain, "And if I should change my mind, And I do sometimes, You know I do sometimes, I'll come back to you," suggests an uncertainty in the singer's intentions but holds out the possibility of a reunion.
The second verse focuses on the specific details of the person's face that the singer remembers the most. They recall the smile in their eyes and the warmth that it brought to them. The final lines of the verse speak of how the person often thinks of them when they are feeling down, suggesting that the two individuals have a special connection that cannot be easily broken. The final refrain, "Remember, remember, remember, remember, Remember, remember, remember you," emphasizes the importance of holding onto the memories of the person they care about and the hope of seeing them again someday.
Overall, the song is a sweet, sentimental reflection on the power of love and memory. It captures the feeling of missing someone who has a significant impact on your life and the hope of reuniting with them one day.
