The lyrics to "Eighties" by a.u.m are a poignant and melancholic reflection on the complexities of love and relationships. The song opens with the singer recounting how their partner had professed their undying love, only for the singer to question what "forever" truly means in the context of love. The lyrics then address the fragility of relationships, with the singer trying to console their partner through the knowledge that happiness today will inevitably lead to pain tomorrow.
The chorus repeats the refrain of the title, with the singer pleading for their partner to stop claiming that they will never separate, as they acknowledge the reality that nothing in life can be truly guaranteed. The second verse continues this theme, with the singer pointing out that their partner's words may be driven by a sense of bravado or courage, rather than a steadfast commitment to the relationship. The lyrics reference the passage of time, with the changing seasons representing the ebb and flow of emotions and the temporality of human connections.
Overall, "Eighties" is a bittersweet meditation on the joys and obstacles of loving someone, and the uncertain nature of relationships. The lyrics express a sense of resigned acceptance towards the fact that even the most passionate love affairs may not last, and that the ultimate fate of any relationship is unpredictable.

Bad Things In History
The quality of your videos is astounding. And the content is extremely well researched too. I remember when this cult made the news, but I never realized the insane details behind how it happened. Thanks for making this!
Beyond The Dark
Thank you, I still have so much more to cover, thanks for stopping by.

I can't help but pity Mr. Matsumoto, all he wanted was for his children to grow into happy and if not wealthy than at least financially secure people, and yet one of his own children who he wished only the best for became the head of a cult who masterminded terror attacks and hoped to start World War 3 for his own twisted goals. I can only hope that he never had to see the monster his son became, and that he went on to the other-side content in his belief that his child grew into a happy and good young man.
