His first EP "I Hope You Know What You're Doing" was recorded in the summer of 2008 at his brother's house in green lake after much encouragement from friends and family. The EP began distribution in early 2008, after an open mic, where Austin decided to try a few of the songs from the EP. After the performance, Austin was offered spots in various shows, and soon began a tour with good friend The Awful Truth.

The "I Hope You Know What You're Doing" EP has been very well received, and is now available on such online stores as iTunes, Amazon dot com, eMusic, Audio Lunchbox, and others.
