In the first stanza of Akon's "Never Took the Time," the artist laments the loss of a relationship. Akon expresses his frustration towards his partner who never took the time to truly know or understand him. Despite this, his love for the person remains the one thing that he has left, and losing them has made him a "man in misery."
As the song progresses, Akon reflects on his relationship and struggles to come to terms with why his partner left him.
