Seven Mirrors
arms akimbo Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

One lazy sunday we arrive
And I swear you lost my mind
But I found it when you shut the light

Beware. All I ever do is care
and I know that tends to scare
I'm just sick of my own hair
I can't see you
(runaway runaway)
No I don't wanna see you
(runaway runaway)
See I'm lost in an illusion where everybody wants my eyes

I'm gonna take a chance and
(runaway runaway)
No matter what the outcome
(runaway runaway)
See I'm lost in a corridor with 7 mirrors in my way

Oh you gotta let me know
Oh you gotta let me know
Won't you let me know
Won't you let me know

Now I know
I'm not supposed to go
I should leave their lives alone
Even though he won't be home

But she told me that she's ready
And she told me she would let me
See I want nothing more than to see her clothes along my floor

Oh you gotta let me know
Oh you gotta let me know
Won't you let me know
Won't you let me know

I can't see you
(runaway runaway)
No I don't wanna see you
(runaway runaway)
See I'm lost in a corridor where everybody's in my way

Oh you gotta let me know
Oh you gotta let me know

Won't you let me know
Won't you let me know

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Arms Akimbo's "Seven Mirrors" express a sense of confusion and uncertainty as the singer navigates their relationships and desires. The opening lines evoke a lazy Sunday vibe, but the mood quickly shifts as the singer expresses their feeling of losing their mind when with someone. However, they find their "lost mind" when the person turns off the light, perhaps suggesting a sense of comfort in the darkness or a sense of clarity when without distractions.

The chorus repeats the idea of running away, possibly from their own feelings, as they are "lost in an illusion where everybody wants my eyes" and "lost in a corridor with 7 mirrors in [their] way." The mirrors could represent different perspectives and images of themselves that are confusing and contradictory. There is also a sense of caring for someone, but fearing that their caring nature is overwhelming and scaring the other person away.

The final verse describes a desire for someone who is otherwise unavailable and the internal struggle between wanting to act on those feelings and respecting others' lives and choices. The repeated plea of "won't you let me know" suggests a desire for clarity and honesty in their relationships, but also a sense of being lost and unsure of what to do.

Overall, the lyrics of "Seven Mirrors" convey a sense of navigating complex emotions and relationships and the internal conflict that comes with them.
