I reach for my shadow in horror
I am filled with fear and dread as I try to reach for something that I can never truly touch or possess.

Envy eats but its own cold heart
Those who are consumed by envy and jealousy ultimately suffer the most, as it consumes and chills their very own heart and soul.

Some friends, the few I have left
I have lost many friends in my life, and now only have a small handful left to rely on.

Set sail out of the frame I’m in
My remaining friends have moved on and away from my current situation, leaving me feeling trapped and alone in my own frame of existence.

He begins to die, That loses his desires
When a person loses their desires, they also lose a part of themselves and their will to live, causing them to wither away like dying leaves.

All are not merry that dance here lightly
Just because someone appears happy and lighthearted on the surface does not necessarily mean that they are truly content or at peace underneath it all.

Fear follows those who live by the sword and fire
Those who engage in violence and aggression throughout their life will constantly be looking over their shoulder and living in fear of retribution and retaliation.

My heart was my weapon, and the death of me
My own emotions and passions were what ultimately led to my downfall and demise.

I saw the evening anew, all lean and red of hue
I am seeing the world and my surroundings in a new light, with a sense of clarity and sharpness that I had not previously possessed.

It’s a lonely ocean out there, watched from my shore of despair
I feel as though I am standing on the edge of a vast and empty ocean, staring out into a world that is lonely and desolate, without anyone to accompany me on my journey.

So unto the sea my grief set sail, in disbelief
I have decided to let go of my grief and pain, allowing it to be carried away by the currents of the sea, even though I can hardly believe that it will ever truly be gone.

Fevers and time burn away, Nothing is allowed to stay
Both the passing of time and the intensity of our emotions can slowly burn away at us, leaving nothing but ashes and emptiness behind in their wake.

There is nothing new underneath the sun
Despite our constant pursuit of novelty and excitement, the world itself is ever-lasting and unchanging, with nothing truly new or original to be found under the sun.

The moon with its long arms, reaches into the sea
Even the moon, with its distant and unattainable beauty, is able to exert its influence over the vast and sprawling sea, shaping and guiding its currents and tides.

My eyes were towers high, in my heaven
I once believed that I had everything I needed and wanted in this world, but now I feel as though I am standing alone in a tower that is slowly crumbling around me.

And from my body drew a cold breath and final clue
My body is now failing me, and I can feel the last vestiges of my life slipping away, like a final clue that the end is near.

The sun made clear its thoughts, It was never coming through
Even the sun, which represents warmth and light in our lives, is unable to push through the darkness and despair that now surrounds me, leaving me feeling lost and alone.
