Awake
blood blood Lyrics

Fall forward, fall forward
Fall at my feet
Fall from a fisted hand
My words and my ways have fallen asleep
And I've been afraid to stand

I'm waking up my fingers
I'm waking up my feet
I'm waking up my fingers
I'm waking up my feet
Oh waking up, oh waking up, oh waking up in me
Oh waking up, oh waking up, oh waking up in me

Awake, awake, awake, awake in me
Awake, awake, awake, awake in me
Awake, awake, awake, awake in me
Awake, awake, awake, awake in me

Èirigh na grèine
Èirigh mo gradh
Cuir do bhonnan an taic
Arm na sheasamh
O chian nan cian
Cùm an teine gu bràth

I'm waking up my fingers
I'm waking up my feet
I'm waking up my fingers
I'm waking up my feet
Oh waking up, oh waking up, oh waking up in me
Oh waking up, oh waking up, oh waking up in me

Awake, awake, awake, awake in me
Awake, awake, awake, awake in me
Awake, awake, awake, awake in me
Awake, awake, awake, awake in me

I'm waking up my fingers
I'm waking up my feet
I'm waking up my fingers
I'm waking up my feet

Oh waking up, oh waking up, oh waking up in me
Oh waking up, oh waking up, oh waking up in me
Oh waking up, oh waking up, oh waking up in me
Oh waking up, oh waking up, oh waking up in me

Awake, awake, awake, awake in me
Awake, awake, awake, awake in me

Awake, awake, awake, awake in me
Awake, awake, awake, awake in me

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Blood Blood's song "Awake" speaks of rising from a place of fear and inertia, of standing up and waking up from a deep slumber. The repetition of the words "fall forward" speaks to our tendency to stay stagnant or fall back when faced with difficult situations in life, and the need to overcome our fears and insecurities to forge ahead. The lines "My words and my ways have fallen asleep / And I've been afraid to stand" seem to suggest a need for self-reflection and a personal reckoning with one's own beliefs and actions.

The repeated refrain "I'm waking up my fingers / I'm waking up my feet" serves as a call to action, urging the listener to take firm steps towards waking up and embracing life with renewed energy and purpose. The use of the Irish Gaelic phrase "Èirigh na grèine" further emphasizes the theme of awakening, meaning "Arise with the sun." The final lines, "Cuir do bhonnan an taic / Arm na sheasamh / O chian nan cian / Cùm an teine gu bràth" translate to "Put your shoes on for support / Arm yourself to stand / From the distance of the past / Keep the fire always burning," reinforcing the idea of standing tall and staying strong against all odds.

Overall, "Awake" is a powerful anthem of hope and perseverance, encouraging listeners to overcome their fears and challenges with the strength and determination to rise and shine.

I just discovered this. Thank you so much! I was the lead designer and it remains one of my favorites to this day. It was a fantastic team to work with, too. We knew we had something special and were thrilled to see its success. We were utterly devastated when the sequel was cancelled. It's remarkable that more than 20 years later there still isn't anything like it.

You were the lead designer?! This game was incredible! My brothers and I played it for hours on end when we were kids! So much fun! I occasionally remember it and consider buying an old xbox simply for this game.

Has there ever been any talk to restart development of the sequel?

Jabler -

It's a shame a sequel never came out to see the light of day. Did any development ever begin on it or did it just remain an idea? This series could have been great with the water effects and physics being perfected over the years. Thank you so much for your work on this game!

The soundtrack is what made this game so memorable for me. Product of its time and it shows.

Best Dakka filled naval arcadey action game without being hit with the GW stick.
It’s too bad that gorkamorka video game never came out for the dreamcast.

Hey, with the Recreation/Remake currently in production, why not do a "What Made it Great?" on Dead Space? I'm currently replaying it, and it quite succeeds in the developer's goals of trying to make a game that out Resident Evil'd Resident Evil 4 (which itself was a pretty solid and creepy actionised Survival Horror game, but nowhere near as good as Dead Space). The monsters, Necromorphs, are up there with Tyrant T-00, Nemesis, Chris Walker, the enemies from The Suffering and Pyramid Head as some of the most disturbing enemies in Horror game history!

Well I've decided to cover games that turn 10/20/30/ect. years old during the year I cover them. So since it is 2021 I plan on covering games from 2011, 2001, 1991, ect. for this year. That's the idea anyways.

@ACE1918 I guess around Halloween, you could make an exception.
