Every performance by Cosmos attracts a full house not only in Latvia but in also in Russia, Ukraine, Germany and anywhere they appear. A young, ambitious and gifted group of musicians, Cosmos’ fame is spreading contagiously overseas as they perform their important role of representing Latvia as a truly musical nation and at the same time satisfy their desire to introduce themselves to yet wider audiences. Drawing on profound European musical traditions, Cosmos enthusiastically put their academic music background to work as they explore the almost unlimited possibilities of the human voice – nature’s most incredible musical instrument.
To consolidate the ongoing evolution of their musical education, Cosmos devote much time to workshops with the world’s leading a cappella music professionals such as The Hilliard Ensemble, Take 6, The Real Group, The New York Voices, The Flying Pickets and M-Pact.

The Light
cosmos Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
i gotta have a light heart
gotta have a light
i gotta have a light heart
gotta have a light
we got the toughest friends
never see them cry
we got the most sensitive lovers
--you, me--
always on the verge
we got the worst skin
--pink, red--
always feelin dirty
we got the most love
--love, love--
love love love love love
i gotta have a light heart
gotta have a light
The song "Light Heart" by Cosmos is a beautifully written piece that touches on the complexities of human emotions. At its core, it is about the importance of maintaining a light heart, despite the many challenges that life throws our way. The singer acknowledges that life can be tough, and that we all have our moments of vulnerability and sadness. However, the key to happiness and inner peace is to remain steadfast in our pursuit of joy and optimism. The lyrics capture this sentiment perfectly, with the repeated refrain of "gotta have a light heart" serving as a reminder of the need to stay positive and hopeful.
One of the most striking aspects of the song is the way in which it portrays the people in our lives. The singer mentions several individuals, including Doug, Eliza, and the listener themselves, highlighting the different ways in which we all experience life's challenges. Some of us may have tough exteriors and never show our emotions, while others may be more sensitive and prone to tears. Similarly, some of us may struggle with issues like bad skin, while others are blessed with an abundance of love and affection. Regardless of our individual circumstances, however, the song emphasizes that we can all strive to cultivate a light heart.
Overall, "Light Heart" is a deeply moving song that speaks to the human experience in a profound way. It encourages us to stay optimistic and positive, even in the face of adversity, and reminds us of the power of love and connection.
