Include Me Out
dEUS Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Where have I seen this before?
When will I feel it again?
Somebody opened a door
I'm afraid to walk in
Imagination will kill
If imagination stands still
I read it in open book
Read it in open book

Oh man, I read it in books of laughter
Oh man, I read it in books of pain

What are you talking to me
Cause I'm not really there
Like a spirit that's free
I'm as light as the air

Oh man, I'm as light as the air and floating
Oh man, I'm as light as the air and floating

Take me on
Where the fire winds blow
Of where a fallen leaf stays
For days
On your shoulder

Cause all I need
Is to find my own
And that summering drone
Illicit and golden

Oh lord where have I seen this before
Oh lord when will I feel it again

Read it in every move
Read it in every game
Read it in what you do
Read it in everything

Oh man, as light as the air and floating
Oh man, as light as the air and floating
Take me on
Where the fire winds blow
Cause when time stands still
I wait until
It's over
And all I need
Is to find my own

And the summering drone
Illicit and golden

Overall Meaning

The opening verses of dEUS's song "Include Me Out" express a sense of déjà vu and anticipation. The singer asks, "Where have I seen this before? When will I feel it again?" suggesting that they have been in this situation before but are still unable to predict what will happen next. This sense of uncertainty is reinforced by the image of a closed door the singer is afraid to walk through. They recognize that imagination can be both a weapon and a hindrance in such situations. The reference to having "read it in open book" suggests that the singer has studied and learned from past experiences, but this hasn't necessarily made them any more confident or prepared for the present situation.

The chorus of "Include Me Out" suggests that the singer has found some solace in reading about the experiences of others. The repetition of the phrase "Oh man" seems to indicate a mixture of awe and resignation. The following lines, "I read it in books of laughter / I read it in books of pain," suggest that the singer has found something universal in human experience, something that transcends their own individual circumstances.

Yeah the beginning is awesome, especially 'Hello from the children of planet earth.' It's actually a real recording from a probe we send out into space a few years ago containing the Voyager Golden Record hoping some day another extra terrestrial civilization will find it. Much like throwing a bottle in the ocean hoping some day someone will find it.

Ever since I watched the movie I wondered which song this was... I found it back then but never listened to is again... Now I found it again and I can't stop listening anymore...

I came here from the movie Ben-X which I am watching right now. And it's funny because it's so hard to just keep watching that movie. Not because it's a bad movie, it's the opposite. It's amazing how you can actually feel what the caracther felt in the movie - very very few films can make you feel that way, even if it's a terrible feeling.
