Kate is half Taiwanese and half Japanese, with roots in Europe, as well.
Her childhood was spent between the UK and Japan, and she lived in San Fransisco during university. She is trilingual in Japanese, English, and Chinese.
In 2011, Kate made her major label debut as the vocalist for DadaD.
She is the mastermind behind their distinctive pop style, directing the art, design, and styling for the duo. Her global vision and creative sense of style have gained her fans in the fields of fashion, art, and culture.
Her vocals have also been featured in the commercials of such clients as Coca Cola, Risona Bank, and Nippon Ham.

Shige has been born in Tokyo. While in high school, he formed a 3‐pieced band, Kobose, acting as its bassist, vocalist, and songwriter. After graduation, he traveled around the US and Europe with his bass, and released 4 original albums after his return. His unique bass style garnered him much attention in the music world, and eventually landed him on the cover of Bass Magazine. A naturally multi-talented musician, he plays the guitar, bass, piano, and percussion for DadaD, and handles the recording and mixing for the duo. He formed DaDaD in 2011 with Kate and also produces music for TV commercials, and works with various other artists as a bassist, songwriter, arranger, and producer, participating in their recordings and shows.

Their music reflects a world view of poetry in which Japanese and English lyrics are mixed. The roots of their music comes from various countries and has a strange groove feeling produced by Shige's music. It exceeds the genre of Japanese music and western music, there is only one kind of music.

The name DadaD is inspired by Dadaism, an art movement of the European avant-garde in the early 20th century. DadaD (pronounced "Da-Da-Da") is also a universal sound that can be pronounced across countries, cultures, and generations.
