The lyrics to Daddy Yankee's song "Brugal" start with the repetition of the words "guayando" and "rapando," which could be interpreted as the sound of movement, dancing or rapping. The artist then references "yakos" and "yakas," which are slang terms for men and women respectively in the Dominican Republic. The lyrics also mention the use of three popular drinks in the Dominican Republic: "presidente," "brugal" and "mamajuana." The chorus invites listeners to join in and dance to the rhythm of "takata takata," which could be interpreted as the sound of drums.
In the second verse, Daddy Yankee mentions a female dancer and tells the listener to position her facing away and spank her. He then describes how he met some friends while in Bocachica, a beach town in the Dominican Republic, and they decided to go to Santiago, a city in the country's north. The artist pays for hotel rooms for the girls and mentions different neighborhoods in Santo Domingo where he has friends. The lyrics end with a repetition of the "guayando" and "rapando" sounds.
