The lyrics of Dariush's song Ba Shoma Ayandeganim convey a powerful message about the struggles of the Iranian people throughout history. The title translates to "With You, Our Future Generations, O Builders of the World," and the song begins with Dariush addressing the audience as the world's builders who are pleased with themselves. Then the lyrics mention the past centuries in Iran, which were characterized by imprisonment, executions, oppression, and drug addiction, highlighting the difficult times the Iranians have endured.
The song continues with the mention of colonialism, exploitation, and heartache of leaving one's homeland. The reference to bloodthirsty merchants and snake-obsessed rulers reveals the corruption and injustice that have existed in Iranian society in the past. The refrain repeats the phrase "قرن زندان، قرن میله، قرن اعدام حقیقت / قرن تن دادن به دارو، قرن کشتار شهامت" which translates to "Century of imprisonment, century of execution, century of truth / Century of giving life for drugs, century of massacring bravery."
The lyrics of Ba Shoma Ayandeganim by Dariush elicit strong emotions and evoke a sense of pride in the resilience of the Persian people. Despite the struggles that Iranians have faced for centuries, they have still managed to survive and create a brighter future for generations to come.
