His body of work consists of over 200 songs in 25 albums. With remarkable sensitivity and undeniable logic, he has created an astonishing repertoire and a glorious body of work. Furthermore, his performances in the Iranian Cinema, more specifically in two films: "Yaran" and "Faryad zir-e- ab" have earned great reviews[citation needed]. Recently, his incredible amount of sheer hard work in bringing awareness and support to the world of addiction has insured his place among the mere handful of humanitarian Iranian artists who have made an impact in the lives of people with compassion and passion. Through the establishment of the Iran Recovery Center, and Ayeneh Foundation, by creating such websites as [Behboudi.com], the first Persian website addressing substance abuse, [Ayeneh.org], the first and only website addressing all social maladies widespread among our countrymen all around the world, and his own weblog, [dariusheghbali.com]; through educational seminars and conferences around the world, and as a member of Amnesty International[citation needed], Dariush has raised his voice to make a difference. His goal is to create a nurturing environment conducive to allowing people to develop healthy, drug free lives, encouraging them and their family and loved ones to acquire and seek the skills to achieve sobriety and successfully maintain it, to bring social awareness regarding the plight of our countrymen and to create a bridge between those in need and those who can lend a helping hand. As such, his contributions have been recognized by the Self-Help And Recovery Exchange, which selected him to receive the Ron Simmons & Rev, Ronald L. Wright Award, for his outstanding contribution to support group participation by minority communities.
Dariush and his music have swept the worldwide musical scene with such haunting and powerful voice that could break a heart. His inherent musicality and intelligence and the astonishing beauty of his timbre, coupled with a passionate belief in the importance of civil liberties and political and human rights has made him an international symbol of a free Iran. He has been a messenger of love and compassion to the refugees all around the world struggling to find a tiny nest away from the tyranny and suppression. As such, he has been embraced by the Arab world, with its rich musical culture, with great enthusiasm. In a recent international festival of music video and tele-media held in Bahrain, Dariush was recognized as the sole representative of contemporary Iranian music. He was awarded the highest peace trophy[citation needed]. In the closing ceremonies of the festival, Dariush sang of freedom, particularly in his homeland, Iran, and passionately expressed his firm commitment towards being the voice of awareness, bringing attention to the plight of his countrymen struggling for freedom.
His flawless taste in music, poetry and lyrics, and his magnificent ability to touch the souls of his countrymen have been the main source of his enduring style. His engaging personality and his fierce loyalty to the need of the society has undoubtedly proven to be inspiring to the younger generation. This ever-growing impact on the younger generation, who were not even born when he began his career, as well as those who are avidly following his every move is generating over 200,000 hits a day on his website Dariush2000.com. Dariush transcends the world of popular and traditional Iranian music that he has commanded for over three decades, and has awarded the most glorious spot in the heart and soul of his countrymen all over the world.

The lyrics of Dariush's song "Cheshme Man" address the notion of loss and longing for a love or a person who is no longer present. The song is a plea for that person to come back and ease the singer's pain. The first verse starts with a request for the person to come and help the singer, as their eyes have dried up due to their pain. The second verse expresses the hopelessness of the situation, stating that even crying does not cure the wounds. The chorus, repeated twice throughout the song, expresses the singer's wish that everyone would cry for them as they do, and that the person who has left will never return, but their heart will keep yearning for them. The third verse touches on reminiscing about good memories, which disappeared as quickly as a dream, and now the singer must put their head on their knees and cry tears of regret. The final verse speaks to the despair of the situation where everything has turned black and mournful.
The song's lyrics demonstrate the common theme of loss and longing, which is reflected in many of Dariush's works. The simplicity of the lyrics and the melody highlight the raw emotion that the singer is experiencing. The use of the word "Cheshme Man" (my eyes) throughout the song emphasizes the singer's pain and tears of sorrow, which have been ever-present since the person's departure. The chorus, as well as the verses, creates a sense of repetition, further demonstrating the singer's never-ending yearning for the person.

Gözlerim gelin bana yardım edin
Yanaklarım kurudu bir şey yapın
Ağlamaktan başka yapacak bir şey yok
Bizden bir iş gelmez artık, sızlan
Giden artık hiçbir zaman gelmeyecek
Kıyamete kadar gönlüm ağlayacak
Denizdeki, yeryüzündeki her şey Allah’ındır
Göklerin bütün bulutları da
Keşke hepsini benim gözüme verse
Gözlerim halime ağlasın diye
Giden artık geri gelmeyecek
Kıyamete kadar gönlüm ağlayacak
Benim iyi geçmişimin hikayeleri
Bir rüya gibi çok çabuk bittiler
Şimdi başımı dizlerime vurmalıyım
Kıyamete kadar hasret yaşı dökmeliyim
Hiçbir gönlün benimki gibi derdi yoktur
Benimki gibi gurbeti ve matemi yoktur
Şimdi ağlamak benim derdimin devası
Gözüm neden gözyaşımı yeniyor?
Bizim aydınlık güneşimizi çaldılar
Onun altına ağır bulutlar çektiler
Her yer siyah matem rengine büründü
Bizim fırsatımız çok az
Giden artık hiçbir zaman gelmeyecek
Kıyamete kadar gönlüm ağlayacak
Alınyazısı, gözleri kör görmüyor
Hançerinin yarası göğsün içinde kalır
Giden artık geri gelmeyecek
Kıyamete kadar gönlüm ağlayacak

ترجمه این آهنگ از فارسی به انگلیسی
Song Name: My Eyes
O My eyes, come to assist me,
My cheeks are dry, do something,
Can anything be done but crying?
We are hopeless, shed tears,
The one who is gone will never come back again,
My heart wants to shed tears forever,
All the seas God has on earth with all the clouds in the sky,
I wish he had given all of that to my eyes,
So that they could cry for me,
The one who is gone will never come back again,
My heart wants to shed tears forever,
The happy tales of my past,
Have ended so fast like a dream,
Now I must put my head on my knees and forever shed the tears of regret,
Nobody’s heart has as much sadness as mine,
Nor nostalgia and sorrow like mine,
Now that crying is the cure for my agony,
Why my eyes lacking the tears, our bright sun is stolen,
And it is drawn by the dark clouds underneath,
Everywhere is full of dark color of melancholy,
Our staying time is near to its end,
The one who is gone will never come back again,
My heart wants to shed tears forever,
Destiny has gone blind and cannot see,
The scar of its blade will remain in the heart,
Lips sealed, and chest stained with blood,
That is the story of the one who is left behind,
The one who is gone will never come back again,
My heart wants to shed tears forever.

I lost my brother 10 years ago. His name was Daryoush too, same as the artist (different spelling). Dariush was his favorite singer. Whenever I need a good crying like tonight, I listen to this song, close my eyes and remember our memories. RIP dadash 💔
