The song "Velayat" by Dariush is an ode to the concept of Velayat, which means guardianship or authority. The song opens with the lines "Oh, all the poetry and stories, Oh, the great boundless, Oh, all that I have and don't have, My credibility, oh Velayat." These lines establish the central theme of the song, which is the singer's unequivocal submission to the authority of Velayat.
The singer goes on to express his love and devotion to Velayat, stating that his tears, laughter, speech, and desire are all for it. He asserts that in life and death, it is Velayat that gives him meaning and purpose. The singer acknowledges that in the presence of Velayat, he is nothing, and without it, he would die.
The song's lyrics paint a picture of complete submission and surrender to Velayat, a concept that is deeply rooted in Iranian culture and Shi'a Islam. The song's powerful vocals and poetic language evoke a sense of reverence and awe for the concept of Velayat.
