In 1991 the band was completed by the guitarist Lars Lundevall. The new line-up recorded these albums:
Varme mennesker (Warm People) (1991), Neste sommer (Next summer) (1993), Mere (More) (1994), Sent og tidlig (Late and early) (1995), Stakkars (Miserable) (1997), Kast alle papirene (Throw away all the paper) (1999) and Midt i begynnelsen (In the middle of the beginning) (2002). Their debut LP "Suser avgårde" (1986), is regarded as one of their most popular records. The lyrics are very popular because they are very naïve & philosophic. They released their final record in 2002; "Midt i begynnelsen". In 2005, they released a compilation which is named "Festen er ikke over... det er kake igjen." ("The party ain't over... There's more cake left"). New album out now: "Trist å være glad" 2011.
Triste dager
deLillos Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The song "Triste dager" by deLillos is a deeply introspective and melancholic reflection on the ups and downs of life. The lyrics highlight the existence of days that are so incredibly sad and hopeless that they seem to have no purpose or meaning. The singer is overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of their sadness and wonders why such days have to exist in their short lifespan. The repetition of the phrase "Det finnes dager som er så triste" (There are days that are so sad) emphasizes the severity and pervasiveness of this despair.
As the song progresses, the singer admits to feeling so low that they contemplate suicide as a possible escape from the pain they are experiencing. The lines "Får lyst å spikre meg ned i en kiste/Og kanskje finne mer trøst der" (I feel like nailing myself in a coffin/And maybe find more comfort there) illustrate the depths of their hopelessness and the desire to end their suffering. However, the singer ultimately acknowledges that they are not allowed to die on their own terms, and thus they must continue living through even the most miserable of days.
The song's overall message is one of acceptance and resilience in the face of life's challenges. The singer acknowledges that there will always be days that are impossibly sad, but they also recognize that these feelings will eventually pass. Through the repetition of the phrase "Slike dager kan stå i kø" (Days like these can queue up), the song acknowledges that sadness may be a constant presence in life, but it also encourages listeners to hold on and remain hopeful for better days to come.
